UberEats tried to get a local restaurant to sign up. Told the owner he'd be charged 35% commission. After discussing it with me and learning how low base rates are for drivers, he told them to get stuffed.
There are many stories. I speak to restaurant owners who have put extra personnel just to service Eats.

I went out the other night to do uber eats only as I really was not in the mood to talk to customers... 3 hours and not one ping so I drove home again
restarted phone and all... It cannot be a main source of income for anyone...

I had a pax recently who I had to ferry between 2 restaurants. 1st existing and second new (really an outlet) because the new one will be only used for UE. The owners were talking about a 3rd outlet the way their UE was 'surging'.

Starting an Oporto with uber east would be the best option. The one in Clarendon Street couldn't keep up with the orders.. Now they've cut it off completely. I'm sure uber eats boosts the overall sales but in the end so many restaurants seem to be going the other way. I guess I just need to keep upgrading my list
