Urging all drivers to message Uber or Lyft to request their rental program partnerships to drop rental prices due to low demand of passengers due to current events from COVID-19. I’ve been sending Uber feedback and Lyft support help messages requesting this and so far Lyft has replied back but Uber not yet. We need to work together to request this so they can listen. One person might not get their attention but if alot of drivers are messaging them, they will start to understand this dire need. I’ve been seeing way too many drivers frustrated driving around waiting 150+ Minutes at the airport for a ride request . The desperation is real and the struggle is real. Please start messaging Uber and Lyft to request their partnership’s to lower their rental prices!!

No preferential treatment for renters. If I found out renters were getting preference for pings I would go postal.

Turn in your cars or declare bankruptcy. Hard to cover the 300 weekly rental when you are only making 300/wk.

Just. Stop. Driving. only solution that isn't a handout.
It's people like you who hoard toilet paper. You have no compassion. I'd say there aren't many like you but there is.

If your not a renter why are you replying? Even if your not a renter, it doesn't affect you directly. Why can't we support each other regardless? Why are uber drivers so divided? It doesn't hurt you to help others. That's why events like these show people's true colors

If your not a renter why are you replying? Even if your not a renter, it doesn't affect you directly to support other drivers who are. Its not asking for a handout, its called speaking up and making temporary changes due to uncontrollable circumstances. What problems do you have as a car owner that make you feel above renters?

If you have an issue as a car owner Uber driver, then you should post it on a separate thread so other car owner drivers can support you and your cause. I don't see why we can't we support each other regardless? Why are uber drivers so divided? It doesn't hurt you to help others. That's why events like these show people's true colors.

I recently bought a car for RS. If I had known that I could get a half priced rental when times got tough, I might have rented.

Is Uber going to pay half of my car payment?

Why should you get discounted rental if no one is going to discount my car pmt?

That's the problem with handouts, they penalize ppl who are smart and play by the rules.

News flash: rental drivers HAVE been getting preference for quite a long time.

As far as the OPs topic, I agree, but it needs to be expanded. Lyft and Uber should help me pay MY car payment as well. I'm not renting, but I am trying to pay for my car, and ... you're right, income is down. They really should help me with MY payments, which are way too high. Why limit the assistance to renters?

Renters do not better treatment I have been on both sides. Because I rent I do not get certain bonuses or boosts when they were available. You have no idea what you're talking about.

True, I rented in the beginning and was told that renters get preference. Rental makes only sense if you drive and earn full time. The $300 a week are barely achievable right now in the Bay Area. Unless you are cool with being in your car for 12 hours and making $60.
