Rental Cars

I am wanting to try driving for Uber and my personal vehicle probably won't pass the inspection req'd in SC.
So my question is can I use a rental car to see if its something I would pursue as a full time position ?

Definetly not! Screwbre will not let use a car without your name on the title and no rental car insurance policy will cover you. Do yourself a BIG favor. Use your pre Uber time to go to the "quit" forum section in this site and read what the"been there done that " people have to say. It could help you to avoid a VERY costly mistake if you still want to buy a car to Screwber.
Your name has to be on the INSURANCE, not the title. Rentals are specifically precluded from rideshare use.

Your half right. You have to be named on the car title too.
Your half right. You have to be named on the car title too. Uber will not insure you as a driver if your driving a car you don't own. That's want a taxi driver does. Drives a car he doesn't own. Uber has spent tons of
money in lawsuits to try to not
Have its drivers classified as taxi drivers.
Not true. I have two cars on my account and I hold title to neither. I am insured on both.

you want a realistic taste?

1. Go to your local craiglist, type in "taxi" or "cab" or if there's no job posts just call up your local cab company.
2. Then get a week's lease from your local cab company. Depending on your town the license requirement's may/may not be easy.

that's your preview of full-time Ubering. It's EXACTLY the same except Uber drivers don't handle cash and have worse insurance and no workers' comp.

I'm trying to get around this with my friends Prius on Uber and Lyft, I submitted the new car document without my name on the insurance, I told them my insurance advised me not to add the car to my policy as the insurance follows the car and his vehicle is fully insured... I'll see what they say
