RECEIVING GUARANTEES THROUGH TEXTS

RICHARD , we want to make sure we can send you incentives and communications quickly and easily. To help with this, we are only going to send hourly guarantee incentives through text messages going forward.

If you are interested in opting back in to receive text messages from Uber, simply text the word GO to (480) xxx-xxxx.
Already opted in? Great! No further action is needed and you may have already seen guarantees sent to you through text messages. Be sure to keep an eye on your text messages for future guarantees and other relevant communications.
Uber On!

I received this today, not sure if everyone got it.. Just an FYI. :)

20 hours for me?!?! I usually work 10-15 hours on the weekend, so they want me on 5 hours outside of guarantee time. Oh well...

Also, they only put in 9pm-12am and 12am-3am. They took away the earlier times where they had to pay me. Heh... Love it
Looks like they wised up to sharing guarantees too. Read the very last sentence...

1. I did the text go thing but I'm still not getting the guarantees...why?
2. When and if I do ever get the guarantees, how does one "opt in"?

When you actually do start to receive the texts there is a link. Click the link and it will take you to a page where you enter your name, email (the email Uber has on file for you), and your phone number. Once that's done you're signed up.

Tip: screen shot the page that says you're successfully signed up. You do not get any notification of opting in other than this page.

Thank you...I seem to remember reading Ina thread that newbies don't get the guarantees...is this true?? If yes. After how long is one no longer a newbie?

The thing to remember about Uber is that they give drivers as little information as possible...and when it comes to guarantees and how those are figured, it's pretty much nada (at least not that I've seen).

I believe that everyone used to receive the same guarantees. Now guarantees are tailored to drivers working patterns. For instance a driver that works more hours will have a higher minimum amount of hours to meet before qualifying for a guarantee period. That's just one example of many that I can see...

For the newbie question it may be best to write to Uber and see what they say. When I started I got guarantees immediately, but that was at the beginning of this year...things have changed since then.

Darling, now I know why you don't answer my texts! You might find yourself with 2 deflated tires one morn!

You have to have your TNC before you will get these texts. No TNC, No guarantees.

Never saw it on any of mine until this time.
Since everyone's guarantees are different now, are women getting paid less than men?

There, now one of you has a lawsuit. Run with this idea, before the others do.

I think they started doing this for legal purposes. How can you guarantee some can make x amount, almost 24 hours a day with little or no sleep?

I was just waiting for a lawsuit, when they used to text us at 2am, saying head back to Downtown after your trip, because demand is off the charts, Then again at 7am, 10am 11,am, 1pm, 4pm 3pm, 6pm, 8pm and then 2am again "Head to Downtwon, demand is off the charts!" I bet some drivers, really took that to heart and drove 24 hours a day.

On a side note, I hate when they are texting me, during my trip telling me to "after my trip stay online". Its like, you know I am driving, why are you forcing me to take my eyes off the road to look at your message? That could of caused some wrecks.

I have it.
I wonder if we opt in to get the guarantee then immediately opt out until it's time for the next one...

I've already had 5 texts today and I don't even know if I will work this weekend. I've only been working Thursday and Saturday lately and with the hour requirements that just doesn't work for me.
I've not gotten a single text and I am opted in...

I responded with "go" last week, but I haven't received any offers for guarantees via text. I haven't wasted my time with that crap for the past month, after I was insulted with a $1.38 weekend guarantee on my statement.

They used to offer $42 /hr, 7 trips for 12a-3a on Friday and Saturday. You're wasting time chasing those guarantees.

Is anyone actually making all these guarantees? I haven't driven much the last few weeks (last week not at all) but I would think many folks are simply not getting enough trips.
So I just got an email from Uber at 10:52pm. Immediately go online to check it out. I have NO intention of going anywhere BTW. I'm at home in Sugar Land. Email and pic below:

UBER: xxxx, what are you waiting for? The night is young and we're seeing SURGE PRICING in Downtown/Midtown right now. Go online ASAP to cash in on this busy Friday night!
