Hi All,

I'd just like to run a quick poll to try to gauge if there would be any interest in a service which would:

1. provide you with a weekly spreadsheet of your income and expenses
2. show you how much GST you owe or are owed on a weekly basis showing your weekly and quarter-to-date GST amount

The idea is to provide you with a clear understanding of your GST obligation so that you can put money aside each week to avoid 'bill shock' every 3 months when you have to lodge your BAS. It would involve taking photos of your invoices and receipts and emailing them to your rep. You would keep the original receipts for your records. You can then use the spreadsheets provided to calculate your own GST or allow the service provider to lodge the BAS on your behalf.

Please feel free to leave comments or ask questions. The more ideas and input the better. Thanks :)

Hi,

Being a bookkeeper myself, this isn't a service that I need but I think it is worth the $10-$15 per week.

I assume the rep you mention (or the person producing the reports and possibly lodging) is suitably registered as a BAS agent. What's being offered sounds a lot like "providing a BAS service".

Thanks for the input. Yes, all spreadsheets provided would be produced by a registered agent.
The main idea is that (a) you would know each week exactly how much you need to put aside for GST and (b) when it comes time for lodging your BAS all the information is ready and waiting
