Can a random officer inspect an UBER car, simply if one just has a sticker on it?

Im curious to know if a driver here has ever been inspected on the spot, with a sticker on their car (no bookings made at the time)

Not sure if its a common thing but Ive had randoms walk up to me with cash previously, having an UBER sticker on my car, requesting a ride. I know its illegal to accept customers. But do any of you guys get that as well?

There has to be a price at one point, one would accept if the bounty was too much

If someone walked up to your car (knowing that you had an UBER sticker) and offered say $250 from City to somewhere that was 20km away.

I hate to say it but I would do it. (irrespective of what the inspectors think)

Risk Vs Reward……..even with ASP/BSP authorisation you can’t do a trip from the same spot of booking. Get caught and you’re done !

Since you live in a totalitarian Country, I assume they can do anything.
Back again with your deluded, pathetic and totally uninformed troll like comments. Your a joke fool. By the way, the results of the 2021 Global Freedom Report had the US ranked 15th in the world where as we came in 8th. I guess there was some improvement in the US as you were 21st in 2019 when your country was in the complete grip of the Trump cult 🤣🤣🤣. Incidentally, Switzerland came out on top and NZ was second. I really feel sorry for you.

Also, I'd take a deep dive into the "totalitarian" movement in the US where Christian Nationalists, Dominionists and other extremist and downright fascist groups have huge influence in all aspects of American life. Most are heavily linked to the Trump cult and the MAGA psychos in general. Even "normal" Republicans are rejecting this insanity. They even have considerable influence on the other side of politics as well. The recent law change on female bodily autonomy is just the beginning. I'm talking about the overturning of abortion laws in case you don't understand 😀. Not much freedom there for the ladies. I imagine when the 2023 Freedom Index figures are released the US will fall considerably down the global rankings. The Texas Taliban leader, Greg Abbott, is at the forefront of this along with other high profile religious nut jobs. Just saying......... 🤣🤣. You guys are hilarious and the whole civilised world looks on with astonishment and bewilderment at the primitive and tribal attitude of many. Much of this is based on ignorance, fear, superstition, iron/bronze age mythology and pure lack of good education. Again, just saying.......

I only think 🤔 that the Trump movement exists because of the rise of the nutty left in the state’s, if you visit left wing democrat states they have massive crime, homelessness, drug problems and a general anything goes lawlessness! When you lose the moderate centre it creates a divisive culture.
The left like to divide everyone on sex, race and politics, and they are trying to do the same crap here! When I was a kid Australia went through a period of acknowledgment and we were raised to treat everyone the same, now everyone is different/labelled and without any discussion or democratic processes things are forced onto people, like the welcome to country at schools, corporate meetings etc etc! I listen to ABC radio news 24, they refuse to use the proper Australian names for places anymore, if they want to use my tax payer funds to do so, put it to a vote or just use the proper legal name for Sydney, not a made up one that actually derived from the aboriginal word for water in Sydney harbor!
Could you imagine if multicultural Britain 🇬🇧 forced people before school or at a meeting to do an acknowledge of the Anglo Saxon forefathers, it would be right wing nutty stuff, it’s no different and is the same as removing prayers or god save the queen, both are just as inappropriate to make people do! It’s divisive!
The left bang on about Murdoch when anyone mentions the ABC left wing bias, where one is a commercial entity who runs at a profit and the other is paid by the community. It’s just a guise and distraction that most journalists are left leaning and write opinion instead of reporting facts now! We are probably about 15-20 years away from being the 🇺🇸

It's not really about so called "left and right". It's really about how the US population has been manipulated to only accept left or right and usually the extreme versions. The rise of the extremist right in the US is very powerful and much bigger than the left. Most Democrats reject the far left but a big chunk (but not all) of Republicans fuel the far right movement. Trump was a lifelong Democrat supporter but when he decided to run for president he opportunistically changed his allegiance and his agenda was to embrace the serious bottom end of the Republican population which evolved into the ridiculous MAGA movement. The social problems in the US have little to do with political allegiance, though both sides will of course point the finger accusingly, but more to do with the institutional adherence to outdated, unfair, unjust and frankly ridiculous laws based on 18th century sensibilities.

Go and visit democrat states, they are lawless and now unsafe! People are sick of Ideologues running their utopian agendas, that are unrealistic and end up being divisive. I wasn't making a supportive Trump rant, he has used the situation to his advantage, but the base is growing because people are sick of living in a lawless, borderless country. The USA has spent Trillions of dollars protecting, invading etc etc, but don't have a secure border. The democrats of 30 years ago are not the same as now. BTW Trump started out as republican and changed to democrats as they have ruled New York his home state for the past 20 years, I would suggest that was purely for business. Regan was a democrat and switch as well!
Outdated laws? All of those states are so called more "PROGESSIVE" than Australia, if you are cool with drug use, if you okay with people living on street, if you blame the system instead of the criminal, if you disrespect the law, if you believe the border is optional, guess what you get a failed state! It's called California! I've watched videos of people in New York walking past cops swearing at them and baiting them, the cops are not allowed to do anything, could you imagine walking up to police in Sydney and calling them FN pigs? It's the break down of society!
One of Australia's greatest successful strategies has been border control and mostly skilled and educated migration over the past 30 years. The USA has had the opposite on masse, mostly uneducated, low skilled people who speak little or zero English. Australia currently has approx 100K illegal immigrants, most have just over stayed by a couple of years, most end up getting deported. The USA currently has over 11.3 million illegal immigrants, its actually estimated to be much, much more. The USA has a much lower rate of overseas born citizens than Australia does, as a percentage of whole population. Imagine having over 10 million illegal people walking around a country the size of Australia with zero border background check? What affects to you think this would have on society? Not paying taxes and living in a large black economy! America now has anarchy and people are just fighting back!

I agree with alot your points.

I respect alot of people but we as a society have become more left-wing and its come to a stage now where you have to 2nd think about what you say to people for fear of offending them.

I watch sport events back in the day there was no such thing as taking you shoes off and standing around a circle in acknowledge of people (yep watch a few cricket matches and you will see what I am on about), every sporting event its basically trying to reinforce the message of 'First nations people' . There has be an acknowledgement statement about the first nations people for everything. Then you have the black lives matter message, where the players do a stance on one knee for about a minute. I get it over this, by all means do it once in a while but not every match. These things are now done at universities , high schools....its kind of scary.

I also dont understand about calling cities by their traditional 'First nations' names. Melbourne for instance was called 'Naarm', Perth was called 'Boorloo'.

I accidentally as a driver this year, I said something along the lines (in reference a gay person), ' he seemed a bit friendly but it wasn't the kind of guy I wanted to be around'. The passenger thought I had some offence against a gay person. I know UBER in Australia have pretty strict protocols in what you say to a customer. Ive learnt as a driver now , its probably to be a bit quite rather than be an extrovert.
