You people seem to forget that these are EXTRA and not required to be given. There are enough drivers in the city now that they do not need to offer high costly bonus incentives, high paying quest bonuses, etc.
They also don't have to gouge the customer's by surges anymore because guess what ... enough drivers!! YAY. Its only a matter of time until kickbacks stop as well... again, something that isn't required to be given, but is given in appreciation.

You act like this job is hard, like it's the absolute worst thing on the world ... most of your attitudes here are quiet disgusting, which in turn probably reflect on your driving, your demeanor, your ratings, and your tip potential ... a tip is not required, and shouldn't be expected ... but appreciated when recieved ... what did you do to deserve it? Did you offer to help with luggage? Did you offer a gas station, dispensary, or liquor store stop on the way? Did you engage in fun helpful conversation? (coming from a 12 year dealer, you earn your tips with personality) ... honestly I wouldn't tip any of you either, If this site reflects how you drive.

I'M quiet curious what jobs you held before U/L ... what job did you have where you can make your own schedule, work whenever you want, and still make a decent living??

I urge many of you to go find a new job, go find something that will make you happy. I'll take your pool rides, your uberX rides, I'll continue to be happy.

This job is not easy. It's quite dangerous actually. Especially in a 24 hr drinking town like Las Vegas. Even the sober drivers here are out of control with no regard for speed limits or traffic laws.

Increased exposure ='s increased risk. We are at high risk for getting killed out here for the amount of time we spend on these streets exposed to the maniacs of
Las Vegas.

I don't think many drivers realize the risks we take every day. Every night you make it home in one piece you should be grateful.
Stop acting like Uber is throwing you a bone by letting you bring passengers from the Wynn to Ceasars for 3.97.

capitalization does not change to definition of a word. using the wrong word can make it confusing to understand what is being read.
Actually ... it can, and does.
Take the words "March" and "march" ... Capital M dictates the month, while lowercase dictates a movement ...

You can have a march in March, but can't have a March in a march

When you get to over 20K rides I would love to hear your opinions about driving for u/l... You would be jaded too if it now takes you 5 rides to make the same amount of money you used to make in one... How about the rate cut they both did the week before Christmas in 2015?? Or the culture of "no tip is needed" they created because they didn't want the driver to make extra?

I'm pissed because it now takes about 15% longer to make what I made back in 2015, 2016 or even last year... Or the fact that both companies have publicly stated that they could care less about the drivers and basically accuse us of being the major reason why they're not profitable....

I like driving, but it's way harder to make money.... And we went from a middle class clientele to the "bus customer" as Farman pointed out that "don't have money to buy a car, but can scrounge up enough $$ to get a shared ride"... but then expect limo service including phone charging, waters, multiple stops and wait time while they smoke cigarettes (yeah I got that twice, but I waited the timer then cancelled).... And if we don't bow to their command, then we have to defend our actions because some crackhead would deactivate us for telling them they can't smoke weed in my car....lol

Btw, this whole post is Bull..... I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself, but you don't know what each driver goes through in their shift.... Vegas ain't exactly cookies and rainbows out there..... I hope you enjoy those 2am-6am runs in NLV.... yeah, some of us have to take those to make ends meet.... just saying!!

Is someone forcing you to drive U/L for a living? Is someone forcing you to not find a better job? Is anyone holding you hostage making you drive NLV in am hours.... I'm lost in you're logic ... you choose to stick around after years of "driver abuse" "wage cuts" etc. Etc. Etc. .... seems like you're not a solution to the problem, yet an innocent bystander of circumstance ...

You make a choice to continue driving ... hate it, find a real job ...

Us making $30-$40 an hour isn’t sustainable for Uber. The higher rates per minute and mile from 3 years ago and bonuses Uber was probably losing too much money. Uber is so well known now they don’t have to pay as much and many people will still drive for them. Like the OP said if it’s not worth driving then cut back on driving hours or quit. As long as it’s still profitable for some (like me) we will continue to drive.

It’s easy to remember the good old days when you could make $1000 on New Year’s Eve with 7-8x surge but those days are well past. We have to adapt or stop driving. Obviously Uber pays enough in this town because there are lines of people signing up to drive at the hub each day. When they start running out of drivers then they will probably raise rates and or bonuses.

How much did OP's life suck before Uber that he's so appreciative of their abhorrent treatment of drivers?
Amen. He was probably a blackjack dealer at Fiesta Rancho or some other dump in this town where the dealers earn less than 40 dollars a week in tips.

P.S. Not putting down dealers that work at those type of joints. Everyone has to work somewhere.

If people want to complain, why not just let them? It's not of your concern, you're not their parents! I would think you have better things to do than to continually comment and go back and forth with others on this subject.

I'm actually a 12 year poker dealer, I work on the strip at one of the top rated poker rooms (and casinos) in the nation. What you mention as "$40 a week in tips" it's actually more like $36-$40 per hour in tips. Good try though.
