Public Transit Should Be Uber's New Best Friend
The two combined could take personal cars off city streets.

(In) New York overall, there isn't much difference between the people picked up by Uber and the ones who ride in cabs. Uber and taxis both disproportionately serve wealthy areas within Manhattan or just across the bridges and tunnels from it. What's more, these customers usually live in neighborhoods with abundant public transit access also. In other words, the combination of public transit and for-hire vehicles is something that New Yorkers have been relying on for years.

Another (credible) view from inside "the bubble"...
Applicable only to the largest metro areas
where there are vast networks of available public transportation and a sea of cars for hire.

NYC/Brooklyn has a population of 10.8 million
The US population is 320 million.
Get over yourself, NY

The TEN largest cities in the US make up only around 8% of the US population.

Do you realize how much 8% really is?

According to Google Ohio's whole population is 11.5 million... So the entire state of Ohio has less than a million more people than NYC alone. Then you may wonder "hey while they all lived crammed up I have so much space"... If you wonder that... Then ask yourself why you have so much space. NYC doesn't need to "get over" itself. You need to stop hating on NYC.

No offense. I'm sure Cleveland is a lovely city.
What videos?
and, NO, as a native New Yorker (and having lived in San Diego, Chicago, Phoenix and eastern Wisconsin), Cleveland is NOT a "lovely" city (hehe...) but it IS a great city/region to live in.

I used to tell my friends "it's a great place to live, you just wouldn't want to visit".
But that's changed.
The city is (and will be for at least the next couple of years) a surprisingly fun place to visit.

You can't see the videos Brooklyn posted?
Try googling "hastily made Cleveland tourism video".
Ah... "Brooklyn" posted them - that's why I didn't see them.
I've only got two people on my 'ignore' list...
yup - he's one of 'em. :)
So, no thanks... I don't really care to see anything he posts as I find he rarely posts anything on topic and has a nasty habit of insulting people for sport - and usually without cause. Hey - I'm sure he can live without me, too. <shrug>

Don't kill the messenger. The videos are hilarious and I don't even live in Cleveland. I'm sure they'll give you a chuckle.

those things are have been around since the last decade... they're great - and hilarious -
and they reflect how a lot of us felt back then.
Today, you can't turn a corner without hitting a tourist or convention goer.
Good for the Uber biz, but it's weird for locals. We're just not used to it.
