Anyone else experiencing this glitch? 80% of my trips are shorted lately, they're claiming it's a GPS issue.
Several over 10 miles short, one was 20.
Fare details screenshot show's a straight line from A to B.
Part A. - Email(s) to CS w google driving directions screenshots showing correct mileage, then a call if needed..they adjust the fare...
Part B. - They short me on the fare adjustment..
Repeat Part A. Lot of wasted time.
Be aware, do your calculations.

No surprise!!!
I am not aware of any issues with Uber, but I will be checking more closely.

I did have that issue with Lyft ... twice the customer was over charged in mileage app showed 41 miles and same run with Uber was 35 miles. Also checked Google maps ... it showed 35 miles.

Tried to resolve at local hub ... they were useless ... all they did was "escalate" the issue to online customer service.
I did get it resolved both times through CS on line. They did refund the customer.

However, because the customer was refunded ... I can no longer be paired with that rider .... Lyft claims there is a potential for fraud.

You just can't make this crap up. LYFT IS HOPELESS!!!

Once again Uber wins.

I've had that problem on and off! Straight line calculation. Sometimes a straight line among the correct mapped route. Whenever i drive i always check the distance they logged and also the map. Sometimes their calculation is clearly off sometimes you wouldn't spot it unless you zoom in on the detail.

Yes, never change destination as a driver.

Still happening with me town528, unreal.
Last one, over an hour on the phone w 2 different CS rep's.
After doing my multiplication and addition on what the true total should be, and getting the 1st rep to agree to add the $16 fare adjustment...it never showed up..
2nd CS rep, had to walk her through these steps, step by step.
Literally, <ok 23 miles x .6375 = what? Correct, now add that to time etc etc.
They finally conceded and gave me the $15 fare adjustment, still $1 short, but by that time, I couldn't take the stupidity anymore (knowing that's what they're counting on).
When a ride takes me close to the Hub, I still have 4 other trips which need to be corrected.
Imo, they are making a boatload on theft of wages, and relying on drivers who aren't writng their #'s down to compare.
I'm using old app majority of time, but same problem with new app also.

This is howyou fix the mileage issue.
Whenever uber is in the background on your phone......
Meaning whenever you see that uber circle and your (you're) using waze Google ect.

IF THAT CIRCLE DISAPPEAR it means uber is no longer monitoring your miles....
You must go back into the uber app let the pin catch up to your exact location then go back to your normal gps that you use.
Happy i semi spell checked everything

Yes you are 100% correct. Uber screws their drivers on mileage driven, ESPECIALLY on long trips. I got to the point where I was setting my odometer to Zero "0" at the beginning of each trip and started recording the trip miles with my 2nd phone, then at the end of the trip turned on my phone again and recorded myself ending the trip and then pointing the camera at the odometer and recording the miles at the end of the trip. I then emailed uber with the incorrect miles they paid me on and told them I had recorded my trip and they were short by X amount of miles. Uber support corrected the miscalculations on about 90% of the time. I didn't worry about the other 10% but was prepared to start a class action suit against them had they not corrected these errors. On the trips where they screwed me on miles and didn't fix it, I had to go into my local Uber office and show them the video and they corrected it at the office.....I told my friends that drive Uber also to start recording their trips and they ALL found that Uber was screwing them on the long trips.

Can anyone really say they are surprised that Uber screws their drivers? After all this is a company that brainwashed and lied to passengers making them think that "Tip" was included in the fare so they didn't tip us??!!??? Then they lost that $100 million dollar lawsuit and had to stop mentioning tip period. You are 100% right that you caught Uber cheating you. I was lucky that I recorded my trip and got mine corrected. But what about the hundreds of thousand other drivers that are being cheated 3 miles here and 6 miles there on a daily basis that aren't sharp enough to catch this??? Answer: Uber scores millions of dollars a month extra by this cheating and can afford the lawsuits they have to settle here and there and in the end??? Its profitable for Uber to cheat the driver and pay the lawyers to defend them. Uber is the dirtiest most scumbag company to work for in America and if you drive for Uber you are either 1. foolish and desperate or 2. not able to do anything else better with your life.

Thank you for your post. I just posted mine. I tested my phone with Lyft and did not have an issue. I now reset my trip meter so I can see how far I drove. I cannot continue to drive for Uber if I have to do this every trip.
Correct, that is why I stopped driving Uber, I had to stop and start recording my trips all the time!!! because they were cheating me on miles most of my trips! I got tired of having to email support for most of my trips just to go back and forth with them to recover my lost pay?? And they were told that I had the trip video recorded!!!!
