you'll remain at that level for the next period
It clearly says "remainder of this qualifying period" not "next period."
Uber is maintaining your current status for the remainder of this period so that you can decline and cancel as much as you want without losing your Pro status during this period.
Next period? Tough luck.

But you can't lose status within a period. So whatever you have now carries over to next period because nobody's gonna qualify on points. Otherwise, why send the email?

Well most of us can’t lose what we don’t have. Not many people ant hard enough for an 85% AR to make diamond.

Once I gave up on my AR, I made hundreds of dollars more a week by not driving 15 minutes away. I’d reject 3 pings in a row all 13+ minutes away and the 4th would be right down the block every time

You can lose status benefits within a period, if your acceptance or cancellation rates go out of bounds. By status benefits, I mean distance and direction with pings.

No way to keep diamond. Is status frozen into the next period? Or were qualifying points lowered?

Any word on this?
What is Uber's position when previously active drivers with the target age and underlying medical conditions (and at risk of contracting the Coronavirus) take off from driving because of the possible health risk if being infected by a rider who either doesn't know they are infected or don't care? Do these drivers fall from Uber grace?

Who gives a shit, really?
You seriously worry about the stupid status in the times, when the whole gig is collapsing?
Some other stupid shit to worry about:
Badges!
Are your badges safe?

Goddammit!
This is the real truth. Diamond isn't much different than Gold. But I do abuse the length of the trip info, so I stay above 85% & below 4% to keep it.

Received this notification today:

But my very last ride on March 20th got me to Gold this period. Any Platinum/Diamond not close on points get the same in-app notification?

Sidenote: Platinum offers zero add'l benefit over Gold in DC. Diamond re-match hardly ever works at DCA and the queue moves so slow now that Priority Access is pointless. So basically no diff at any tier here.
