What would your highest surge have been without upfront pricing?

Decided to check thru my NYE uber trips to see what sort of surge there really was on NYE. This is a different way of looking at things than just calculating Uber's percentage. For example, if you got a ride at 2.5x and Uber took 60%, that means they charged surge pricing of 5.8x. You can find the real surge by doing 2.55 + .35*min + 1.75*mile then dividing the rider price by that. Personally I found the highest surge was really 3.8, but fare details on that trip said the surge was 2.8 and it was boosted up to 3.0. I wasn't in the reddest areas of the map, though.

Incidentally, I discovered that Uber skimmed every single trip I checked. On a normal evening there are some trips which Uber takes less than 25%. Not on NYE.
