Maybe I shouldn’t do this but I’ve been experimenting with a new way to do business. If I get a very low paying delivery I will accept it, then call the customer to ask if they will tip if I give them great service. If they say “Yes” I will proceed with the delivery, if they say “No”, I cancel. Most people say “Yes”, and it has been working out great so far.
Politely ask customers if they’ll tip.

Its one step up from panhandling. Its a shame drivers are put in that position by the companies.
