Don't you just love the way the popo treat us on the street. Everytime i go into a hotspot i get yelled at and sirens blaring. I am not even stopping long. My customers are grabbing the door handles or getting their legs into the car while the friggen police start acting up scaring everybody. I know they have a job to do but they need to calm down and watch the muggers and murderers. People have a right to get in and out of a car. Get a grip Barny Fifffess.

Couldn't agree more! Police way out of control with awful treatment of rideshare drivers.

i like to agree with u but uber drivers and their pickup spots are out of control. very dangerous spots where they park to pickup riders. "lets just plunk this puppy in the middle of a busy street with my hazards flashing"
This is what happens when Uber Lowers their fares because ALL GOOD DRIVERS are QUITTING and Uber is left with BAD/STUPID DRIVERS..... LOL. IMHO

^Oftentimes it is the passengers. I've often had them open the door and start getting out BEFORE I even had the chance to pull of on the shoulder -- also -- sometimes in the middle of traffic at a red light. It boggles my mind how careless some people can be when it comes to their own safety.
This happens so many times. I'm not losing my car door because they don't know when it's appropriate to get out. It almost makes me want to put child locks on

I saw that in Athens when Uber was new. Uber door hit by a ... wait for it... taxi. Fortunately, no harm to people. .....

I figure anytime a cop has to talk to me it is because they know a better way to do whatever they think they saw me do.

I always lock my doors and only unlock them when it's clear and safe enough to let them out . These riders are very careless and don't care about themselves or ur door

I couldn't find a pickup spot last night at was pulled over to talk to the pax. I had a Sandy Springs cop ask me if things were Ok, and when I gave him the address of the pax, he escorted me to the pickup point. Haven't experienced any other cops while out, though.

My car automatically locks -- they are smart enough to unlock while struggling to jump out in the middle of traffic.

Based on reading your posts over the last year; however, I do believe that you are in much better control of your passengers than I am with mine.

Mine has a central lock on the driver side that won't let them until I release it . I had a situation one time where a rider was trying to jump out and almost cost me a door and ever since then I always lock them in properly during a trip and ride isn't over until I say it's over lol

I actually did a pickup of Canton Street in Roswell the other night. Hazzards on and the couple was crossing street to me. A Roswell cop pulled up next to me and rolled down his window and asked if I was picking someone up, I said yes and pointed to the couple and he said and I quote "Thank you for your service, have a safe night".

I was blown away, that was VERY cool of a cop to say for any reason, let alone to "Joe" Uber. It's nice to know at least some of them see the impact we have on not only DUI's but the countless lives saved from folks using rideshare/taxis vs driving themselves.

When you pickup from a large event, make your pax walk away from the venue and don't clog the travel lanes adjacent to the venue. The cops there are trying to pull traffic and when you turn one lane into a taxi stand, you can expect to see motor units harassing rideshare cars and taxis that are impeding this flow.

I find the police to be very amenable. Just last night I was pulled over for making an "illegal" u turn at 11 PM on Northside just past Mitchell plus being on my cell phone. Neither are illegal. When he asked which ticket I wanted (illegal u turn or cell phone violation) I asked which wasn't a moving violation. He said they both were. Then he asked me why my seatbelt wasn't on and I explained I had to unbuckle to get me ID out. He knew that as he watched me unbuckle to get it out. He smiled and goes 'there is your nonmoving violation' and I said works for me.

Always the best possible situation. Where I am you just go online to pay it a few days later and it's forgotten about. No points or issues with insurance.

I was told that it was a violation to have the cell in your hands, is that true?
Where I am yes you have to use it hands free.
