Does anyone else NOT receive Pings when they are online at home? I drive select, and I have been online at home for up to 12+ hours without a Ping, several days in a row. I have experimented with night and day and it doesn't matter. As soon as I get in my car and drive down to the strip I start getting Pings. So does actual driving (being in motion) help your chances of getting pings?

My rating is 5.0 and I live in Summerlin and drive Select if any of that info is relevant. Also, I periodically check the Uber rider app and there is never another Select car within 5 miles of my house and it usually states 12-14 minutes for a pick up for Select.

Any info is appreciated!

I always Ping from my house. im directly behind a bar and an area with others too and restaurants. I make a good 20$ in no shows just by driving a min there and going back home 30sec for 3.75$ . It is possible, your just probably in a very secluded area and you have to drive to where the action Is happening. Plus on top of that your on the select Platform..your already reduces your chances. Unless your in a high end neighborhood. THe strip is where youll find Most of your select Group

but the short answer is..no your car doe not have to be in motion

ex- If there was a select request right next door to your house..you would get that ping. Ping your self and try it to confirm, just make a whole diff account for your pax profile..diff name, add, everything so you don't get red flagged

I get pings at home all the time. When it's slow out, I will come home to eat lunch and leave my app on. It always goes off right as I'm going to eat. ;)

I wish I could tell you how Uber's systems are programmed. I start all of my days from home XL only. You might try a little experiment and opt into x for a day and see if you get requests from home. Good luck.

I'm a driver near you haha because I see you online all the time. It's all about location and your house not in a good spot. Weekdays are also slow for select, and there are some drivers that like to stage at Red Rock. You have to one up them. PM me if you want some tips

But the problem is you're just in a bad spot

I've gotten select requests as soon as I go out of Select only mode into uberX and select mode, more than 7 times, and I mean to the point where they were holding it back because I'm in select only mode

I believe it because it's to Uber's and pax's benefit. I've had plenty of customers telling me about the nice car that they drove in at x prices. The same could be said for xl.

Haha.. we can help out a fellow struggling driver with some useful tips. It's not going to take away all of your pax dude.

Well you know tbh sometimes those drivers with nice cars dont know how to get x-less profiles or select period. Had to go back into the office and ask for both.

When I say I switched and got select req. I mean not even a pen would have enough time to drop and it came in. Honestly I don't really accept UberX nonsurge fares anymore unless it's to meet some type of bonus or reward
