Once picked up someone who was using uber for the first time. Nice, new to the country, was going to a church. He didn't tip so I gave him 4* as usual. Then it occurred to me that when he requested uber later that day he would've been a 4*. It's been a while but I still feel sorry. After that every time I get a 5* I would ask if they were new to uber.

Please tell me you are doing Uber select...cause running that car on x will raise pax expectations too much for a $1/mile lol take that pax ratings as a sign. Put again if running Uber select you might just have to bite the bullet on a low rated pax. I don't pick up anything less than a 4.7 normally. 4.7 and below tend to mean really short rides, but It's really your call. I drive x

I do the same thing. Picked up a 4.5 @2.3x short ride in traffic was still good for almost $20

I've picked up 4.4 4.5 and even a 4.2. Most of the time they are just quite. No problem, some drivers just rate low and are aashole.

Anything 3.9 then I'll be cautious

I'm uber select. First week and I love the long rides from Anaheim to lax. The pay raise is incredible for driving select. 3-5 trips a day and daily income is 200-300 a day working 12hr shifts. With x I had to do 15-30 trips to make $200

Does it ever cross your mind ,that quite pax was a ****** at bar closing 12 hours earlier or was late to LAX and blaming the driver?

Does it ever cross your mind that probably happens only once or twice not there overall Uber rides?

I'm sure very few are just rude, but based on my experience they are ok. I give them 5 stars unless they give me attitude.

Especially on weekend nights, I don't pick anyone below 4.7. I drive Select and pings are hard to come by, but I have had a couple of bad experiences with 4.6 and below. Its not worth it for me.

I remember I told some guy his rating was a low 4.5 and the guy went from happy to sad, couldn't understand how it was that low for that entire trip. To me he was great but I told him to tip and it would go up in no time. Gave him 5 stars, no tip but next time hopefully he does since he seems to care a lot.

His a new driver bro that's why his talking like that. Give home some time, and I promise he will notice the difference between 4.8 and 4.6

No one is saying all low rates pax are bad or short trips. We are just saying most likely they are. On average, probably. Nothing is 100%. I have taken 4.1 to lax before.

If it helps you sleep easier Amy. He would technically have a 4.5 since he starts off with a 5. lol

I picked up a young girl that was a 3 and she was very quiet and well behaved. I wanted to ask but didn't. the only thing I could think of was she lived in a gated area and probably made the driver wait.
