I realized too late that the 4.4 was warranted.

She "made" me stop at Taco Cabana, ordered $31 worth of food and not even an offer to buy me a tea or coke!

Then she started talking about her abusive ex husband. I had to tune her out.

From now on I won't accept anyone with a rating that low.

PS. This makes me think Uber doesn't really care about rider ratings as they probably will never deactivate her

Picked up a pax with a 4.8. He stsrted talking about how he used uber very often and that he "read" that drivers could receive tips now. He ask if ive received many tips since we can accept them. I told him no. His response was "that sucks" . as i dropped him off at his destination he got out of the car and told me he hopes tips improve as he closed the door without leaving me a tip. 1 star for said pax

Open a SQUARE account, get the cc reader in the mail, set up the app and start telling customers, right before the drop off "I know there's been some confusion but WE now have the ability to accept tips on your cc". Then if they say ok, open the SQUARE app and let them put in an amount and slide their card. Goes straight into your bank account.

Yeah, did that... Broke it out a couple of times. Once on a guy who was 'sent to tell me' this chick cancelled and wasn't taking the ride but he would pay me if I accepted cc. He literally ran away with my passenger door left open.

Then one guy who was all like, man I don't carry cash or I would tip you...told him I had a square... Crickets for the last two miles.

Lol

I'm basically done with late nights but if I do work a midnight shift and they mention a fast food run before I start or barely begin the trip, I'm going to cancel on them. No negotiating with them. I've had 2 one star ratings with a 1:45 AM Whataburger run and that's enough. Yeah ratings don't matter but the low rating pax do cause stress that I'd rather not deal with.

I have had a couple good fast food runs with very fun XL pax. I just need to filter out whose good/bad really quickly before I cancel. At the end of the day I don't give a s*** if I somehow get a pax wanting fast food and is a jerk. I will either give them a 1 star or change my rating to 1 star along with a memo to support about their behavior. Uber doesn't give a crap about driver's input or rating, but may save another great driver a headache down the road.

I emailed a guy a request for a tip from the cash app , which he suggested I do. 1 month later he didn't bother to ok transaction. Typical Liar NO TIP!

I've picked up a 1 star before. His second trip. Nice guy, had no idea he had that low rating. I think it was a fluke. His first ride that day was with a first-time UberX driver, and she probably clicked on the wrong button. I gave him 5 stars.

I have noticed that pax ratings have been declining over time. I see a LOT of pax with ratings in the low 4s.

I don't keep track, but anecdotally the earlier trips (afternoons, early evenings) often have higher pax ratings.

When I ignore low rated pax, my ratings improved over time. Seems to me that low rated pax are low rated for a reason, and they tend to be the type that give low ratings. I don't think pax care much, but if I get one whiff of attitude on the phone, or they delay more than a minute, the low rated pax get the boot.

As far as rating passengers.

I used to give all 5 stars. Then I just hit my limit of the BS, and for a short minute took it out on everyone giving 1 star.

Now I'm fair, but like most Dallas D0uche-nozzles hunting up a complaint for a comped trip, I'm just looking for a reason to 1 star them all.

Messed up thing is since I started this, I have seen a sharp increase of 5 star ratings...yet my overall driver rating won't budge from where it's at.

PS
I picked up a 4.25 from Deep Ellum this weekend...she deserves her score, trust me. Before this the lowest I'd seen was a 4.45 from DFW Airport. Little D0uchy-D0uche asked for an Aux cable that he never used even after complaining that I hadn't changed the input channel 0.54 seconds after taking possession of the input - as I also attempt to navigate Terminal E. It was a quiet pouty ride after he failed to find something to report back.

I picked up a 4.6 pax this morning after debating the entire acceptance time. He doesn't know how to drop the pin in his front yard, but that was the only real issue. Aside from that, the guy was nice, chatty, a little off, but nothing that would've warranted a 4.6 aside from him not tipping, which I don't expect from anyone as scrUBER has most people conditioned that it's "included in the price."

I pick up a 4.0 rated passanger to.Normally never would but trying to get the rides for the Guarantee this past weekend.Worse rider I ever experienced.
Them guarantees goes against every rule I have to manage my rides.
  • All ratings are accepted
  • All distance pickups are taken unless I have a non-acceptance/cancel to spare
  • All areas are open game (TCU, SMU, UNT)
  • Hoping for that short trip
  • No surge

Fairly new to Uber (3 wks), and accept so fast as long as I don't hate the pickup location, so may not see it but... How do you see a rider's rating in the few seconds before you have to accept or deny the ride? Is it maybe on the bottom of the screen? Lyft shows it on the request screen real clear but haven't noticed it on Uber.
