i was looking on the Uber requirements for Erie and Pittsburgh both, and nowhere does it say that I’ve seen anything about cars needing a Pennsylvania inspection.

Can anyone confirm this? I live in Ohio about 10 minutes from the state line.

PA drivers definitely need to submit a picture of their inspection sticker every year to stay active.

PA drivers can also currently accept pings in OH, WV, NJ & DE. As an OH resident you may wanna check with Uber as to what states you have reciprocity with. The PA rideshare law requires that vehicles pass a PA inspection, so I’m sure Uber complies with that. At least with Travis gone now they do lol. It’s a goldmine over here. Made $4.60 last night!

I'm going to chime in on this real quick. My Dodge Dart was re-inspected in March 2018 and Uber did not ask me for a current picture like they used to do which was strange. I just added my second vehicle to Uber as of Monday afternoon with temporary tags and registration from Georgia. Uber approved it within 15 min. When I first signed up for Uber in 2017 while living in Philadelphia I strictly recall them making me take a picture of the inspection sticker on my 2016 Jetta.

Sounds like a purchase made via Carvana?

Same. Uber hasn't required/requested my updated inspection. Lyft did.

Had some long trips over the past few weeks. Airport -> Morgantown.
Once drop-off and lunch were complete app would not let me log in. Once I was back in PA it worked fine.

Last week I went about 2 hours into the heart of Ohio. At first it was the same deal claiming, "not permitted online in Akron". I could log back in while still in Ohio closer to the border.

Moot points really since there is virtually no chance of catching a ride back towards PGH. Deadheaded it back and got rides closer to Wash, PA.

So I just sent a message to support regarding this, because I thought for sure we could drive in WV.

You really do meet some interesting people when doing this. My trip from the airport to Morgantown today involved a guy who was turning himself in to the federal prison down there. I almost felt a little bit sad. He was probably 70 years old or so and made at least 10-12 calls during the ride telling his friends and family that he was good and that he loves them. Then when we got there I saw why he was so good. That place looks nicer than some country clubs. So my next question involves long trip pings from the airport. If you decline one, do you drop to the back of the queue? I only decided to hit the queue because my last dropoff was in Clinton and the queue was inexplicably only 17 around 9:00. I was there for less than 10 mins before the ping, so I feel like this ride got passed over by a few drivers before I took it.

I had a ride to Morgantown from the airport once.I was taking an opera singer to WVU, I didn't turn off the app at all and I was able to catch at least five rides there until there was no more rides, then headed back to PA. I don't think uber will let us do it anymore. I think they stopped us from doing that, and other states which kind of sucks because you should be able to earn wherever you drive.

Yeah they require you take a picture of a PA inspection sticker on the vehicle, which kinda sucks.

Yeah I thought maybe it wouldn't let me on because I had logged out to run into Sam's club while I was there ($2.79 for gas! Sad when that price gets you excited). Before I stopped, I set my destination to downtown Pittsburgh and it seemed like it might work, as it didn't give me an error message. I'll await the canned response from Uber on this

I found this to be very untrue you can only drive in the state that you're registered in. Uber hasn't let me drive in any State except Pa.

Yeah I definitely would have got excited about that gas price I actually live in in Weirton West Virginia and gas is only 275 a gallon but I registered in Pittsburgh because of the bonuses and I only driving Pittsburgh because it stays busy driving anywhere else would be stupid except except for New Jersey I just wish they would let us drive in any other state but they don't

Uber's response:
It looks like you're attempting to drive in Pittsburgh while your account is set to accept trips in Morgantown, WV.

At this time, partner accounts are only allowed to have one city listed. This is because each city has a different set of rules and requirements.

If you'd prefer to change the city associated with your account, we'd be happy to assist you further.

Uhhh wtg Uber on getting the cities backwards. I hope like hell they haven't set me up to drive in morgantown only now. Yes I would love to drive 70 miles one way a couple days a week just to get to Morgantown and run a few minimum fares around town.

Yeah that's how mine started at 2 I had to the change it. I'm not driving an hour and a half to make no kind of money at all anyway I didn't even have a signal out there with T-Mobile how to change my carrier to Verizon XFinity a lot better now. you only want to drive in Pittsburgh anyway Pittsburgh needs drivers specially Uber it seems that lyft is everywhere now. they are even having recruiters from left catch rides with Uber to recruit more drivers I had one one night when it's pouring down rain and they had three other recruiter standing at a Sheetz up in Monroeville trying to recruit Uber drivers by catching rides with them in that area. It's all I see nowadays is he's pink lights everywhere I can't stand it I used to drive for Lyft I didn't like it. My customers seemed edgy and I seem to be taking them more to the hill district and Homestead. Most of the smell like skunk if you know if you know what I mean.

Yeah Uber's known to change their policies with no notice or warning LOL.

Gotta be very careful when contacting India about drive locations, seen numerous people on here get switched on accident.
