I have noticed that uber pays us less when we have a destination set. I will put in a destination where there is an hourly boost as I am sick of getting rides that try to take me out of it, but I have noticed that uber will pay me less because of it. I had a ride from downtown where I live to the airport without the destination and usually it is about 20 bucks. When I am on the destination, with the same boosts, going back home which is semi near the airport, but close enough for uber to consider it "Toward my destination" I will make 13. The Toward my destination thing is another problem I have. I have had uber try and make me drive 15 minutes the wrong way toward my destination just to send me 20 minutes in the rightish direction as the destination is technically closer to where I want to go.

BTW… you are describing typical Uber app behavior in destination filters (based on my own experience with using them)…

Uber's destination filter doesn't work very well. You either get nothing, get run around on multiple short trips that don't really get you closer to your destination, or get a long pick up that's close to your destination. Lyft is just as bad, but their new area filter works pretty well.
