I'm seeing posts in other forums where drivers are getting over a dollar a mile. Why are we only getting 70 cents a mile here in Houston?

I'm beginning to think that a couple of days of being "on strike" in Houston might get us a raise. Or it might get us all fired, I dunno.

How else can we get a bump in the mileage to offset the rise in gas prices?

Supply and demand? Lots of drivers, lower pay. But rising gas prices also means fewer drivers, especially in the XL class.

We are in the Atascadero/Paso Robles area and the drivers get $2.50/mile. This has no bearing on what is paid anywhere else in the US.

The reality is even worse. I hope you don't forget about the fact that Uber does not pay for the miles spent to pick up a rider!

After 19 years driving for a living ... that number depends on the month. I wrote off 96,512k miles last year in my accord. But that was uber and process serving at the same time and I have clients even in la Grange and Austin. I might be at 175 to 225 on an uber only day.

How many miles per week on average do y'all put on your cars for Uber? Not personal use. Just for rideshare. Some of you have been doing this a looking time so I know you've got this number...please?
I was averaging 1000 miles a week. 5 days @ 8 hours/day

Perhaps you now understand why the Houston ordinance taxi fare is $2.10/per loaded mile. I'm curious if you guys who have been driving uber for a while still think the ordinance taxi fares are too high, considering the wear and tear of your vehicle, constantly varying fuel costs, and uncompensated empty mileage?

Ya.. Its def. Still bloated...
Cause that fare is paying for..

Driver..
Car..
Tnc licenses.
The yellow cab c.e.o.
Big boss gotta make money too.

Just like with rideshare..
The taxi driver gets a big cut taken out of his fare too. Espically if he rents the cab from the taxi company.

Or..however that works

I only drive Uber on saturday for 5-7hrs depending on my mood. So I guess may be 120 miles if there are airport trips.
