So I had an XL trip to Douglasville. Decided to accept a pool thought it would get me closer to the city. Nope. Trip was 1/4 mile with about 15 trash bags full of laundry....
Why even sign onto uber X/Pool platform at all when you drive a Suburban LTZ? Even to avoid the dead miles that car is too nice for any rates below XL. Not to mention that pax is going to start expecting suburbans for X/Pool prices now. I had a family of 6 call me for X last month. Said the last 3 UberX they got were SUV so they didn't want to pay for XL since most drivers just let them use the extra seats. I of course charged them a cancel fee and told them to request XL. I even had a guy once with 9 suitcases call X.... cancelled and told him to call XL. Some people are just so cheap but they end up paying XL AND a cancel fee in the end.

I have a 2008 Tahoe and can only do XL, no SELECT, no BLACK, no Airport. I just do X rides when im far away from the city to get back. Lesson learned.
That older lady honestly thought POOL is a bigger car to transport her stuff. I explained it to her, got $ 10 extra cash.

You should have taken the 6 and informed uber. They would have charged them and paid you for XL.

I drive a Prius. They literally wanted to cram 6 people into my Prius plus myself. They thought uber X is just 6 pax standard because so many XL drivers are on X platform. I've honestly used uber 3 times in last 2 months and all 3 of my uber X drivers had SUVs... and it's not so bad to have a Prius because I always collect the cancel fee when they have more than 4 pax or want to haul bags or 15 boxes etc.

Those drivers are probably trying to make whatever money they can. I find that during the day it's really hit or miss with XL. It's either airport runs with lots of luggage, coworkers going to lunch together or nothing. That's why I don't do daytime driving. Sometimes if I'm bored I'll punch in at home, while doing other things, and see what happens. If I get a ping, great. If I don't, I've lost nothing.
