Shalom,

Lyft Noob here (LA), thinking of switching away from Uber while the rate is still at a whopping $1.10/Mile...

2 questions;
I see a little fine print notice that states "PAX have 24 hours to pay".. And what if they don't? Or their card is declined. I hope it's coming out of Lyfts pockets. Or do we have to become our own collection agency too...?

And is Lyfts payout similar to Uber? Weekly and in a timely manner?

Thanks ahead!

It is the exact same as Uber just not as much ridership. Tips are nice...when you get them. Riders seem nicer but that is because most are Uber rejects that don't want to be kicked off lyft, they bring the mentality about tipping with them though.

Lyft you get paid every Wednesday.

If you hate ubers CSR you will not be any happier as lyft doesn't seem to have any, I had a puker and didn't hear back from lyft for a week and was told they would need to get in contact with the rider, that was almost a week ago so nearly 2 weeks and not much.

Would you rather...
  1. give 10 rides at $6 each
  2. give 6 rides at $10 each
If your answer is "1" drive for Uber. You get more pings for short trips, less waiting.
If your answer is "2" drive for Lyft. You get fewer pings, have to drive further to pick up, but the pay is better and there are tips encouraged in the app.

If I get "stranded" far from home after dropping off my Lyft pax, I turn on Uber and hope to get back closer to home, then turn Uber off and stick with Lyft.

Lyft passengers, where I live anyway, are just more fun to be with. Today I drove a guy to work after he dropped his car at the shop. He is the artist behind Sun King Brewery headquartered downtown Indianapolis. We talked, we laughed, I parked at the brewery and got a tour, a tip, a limited edition print of his first rendition for the can artistry that got him the job originally, and a case of "fell off the truck" beer.

Best part of the ride, the closer driver turned him down - said he was "too far away" to pick up. That asshole lost the ride of a lifetime. I had a GREAT ride with him today, and he gave me $5 cash tip on a $10 ride.
