So pax cancels rid in route, pleads ignorance, got two young kids in tow, hurricane evacuees, headed back to convention center . . . finished the ride because I felt bad for them, thought it'd be easily corrected with uber. Ha! Never again, I'll be dropping them on the side of the road as quickly as possible. Thoughts?

I picked up a guy for a 30 mile airport run; the 'tard cancels it as soon as we got under way. Because, yeah... I'm not going to notice that. The guy put on the "really? I pressed the cancel button and cancelled the ride?" act. I had him rerequest, did the ride and, just as we were pulling up to the terminal building at the airport he cancelled a second time, thinking he'd only pay $5 for the second trip from his house to the airport, lol. In the end he paid me $5 for the cancelled ride plus the whole of the second ride, less 50 feet. Win for me, $5 loss for the 'tard.

After contacting uber and explaining yhe issue multiple times (incld screenshots, maps, comparable rides) they adj the fare $0.87, this should have been a $18, uber reviewed and said its 6.75 plus the adj. Next ride cancelled in route the pax will find themselves on the side of the road, the headache of getting it corrected with uber isn't worth it.

Look on the bright side - you purchased two lessons for just $10 in lost revenue. Now you know to (1) eject cancellers as soon as they cancel and (2) don't rely on Uber support. It could have been much worse/expensive.

I've had two cancel on a trip.

Car load of SMU fraternity rats. At least one was banned as a result. I know how to get it done. Grifters get no quarter.

The other was some chick that didn't notice her address is in several other cities, and she booked an $80 Up Front Fare trip across the entire metroplex instead of a few miles to her actual home. When she realized her error, she cancelled, and I immediately pulled over, curb kicked her. She left a stain, so her total costs exceeded her Up Front Fare, with no haircut from Uber. 10 minutes for $100+.

I'd do it again.
