The Uber partner app went offline around 7 PM Friday and was down for over 10 minutes. You could not log back into the app without receiving an error. The user app showed that there was only about 10 cars in all of Tampa available.

I got the same thing. It seems to be working fine now.
It stopped working for me when I restarted my phone and the app after ending a longish fare. It's possible that the few drivers that were left visible just never closed their app. I was getting pretty annoyed trying to get the app to login, considering the prime timing. But it ended up working out all right for me, because when it finally came back online, pretty much every zone was surging at 1.5x, and I snagged a few before it returned to normal.

It was almost too perfect, and leads me to believe that it could have possibly been malicious. If someone was to launch a successful denial of service attack on Uber and was able to target the servers that the drivers connect to without disrupting the riders, they could potentially create an artificial surge. Kind of like forcing a temporary driver strike to increase demand. This is just speculation, but if people are going to hack, I'd rather have them doing this than modifying their location and screwing over every driver near them.
Yup had same problem restarted phone, nothing, finally re-installed app from link, then it updated and was working again..
I dropped off a pax and went to complete the trip and was unable to because of the down network. That trip isn't showing in my history. Should I wait and will it show? Or contact someone?
I confirmed with Uber and the Server did go down. I would contact them at partners.florida at uber com,
I was accepting a ping when it happened to me.
Then I switched to the pax app and watch all available cars disappear.
Check your trip history today. A fare I had at that time shows as $60 when it should've been more like $6. Also had a rider this morning who received a receipt for $70 for a $7 ride.

If this is a system wide issue, they are going to be slammed with emails today.
