I was just informed that Uber sends the panic Guaranteed $XX / hour notice out to a larger service area to over flood the market and then prevent any surge rates with drivers from out of town?
I am an out of town driver.
I understand that, but why would (example) Uber Driver's in Detroit invite drivers from Cleveland to come in and kill the surge, and hope everyone makes the guaranteed rate $22/hr (before Uber fee is applied) which would be what in reality $16/hr?I am an out of town driver.
My closest market is 50 miles away.
I have 3 markets available to me under my security check.
New Orleans-50 miles
Baton Rouge-70 miles
My area does not have Uber.although it could support 12-20 drivers in my estimation.
Especially on weekends.
Bar closing can be an hour or longer wait.
