Hey has anyone else noticed that out of state plate cars are being used here. I've seen Texas and California plates in the cell lot at the airport with uber stickers on them.

I would imagine of one of these out of state cars got into an accident they wouldn't be covered by Uber's insurance. The drivers must be registered in Louisiana or the app wouldn't work I suppose.

They are most likely active duty military. Laws for them to register their cars are different than civilians. They may maintain their home state registration even if they're posted elsewhere forever.

Apparently to drive in JP you don't need Louisiana plates. That's changed since I started in October. Since JP only drivers can pickup at the airport that's who those drivers are.

To pickup at the airport you need Louisiana plates and registration from what I am told. Military or not. Airport has their own regulations.
