Week 4 of the season, 3rd home game in a row for the men in burnt orange.
The Cowboys come to town with the #24 ranking and a unblemished record.
Since they've played Nowhere State, Whatsamatta U., and UTSA, they've not faced very tough competition.
The Longhorns will be their first significant test, and now that the Longhorns have found a playmaker at QB, my money is on a Longhorns upset.
Longhorns 49, Cowboys 41.

OKSt is well known for playing absolutely no one in the early season. Them and Tech. That's why they very often build up this 5-1 record and look like they are someone.....and then go 7-5 for the season. It's been happening for a decade that way so I guess it's just how the AD schedules in order to keep the fans interested. A&M did it as well to a lesser degree before they fled the conference like coward dogs.

So the game. Difficult to even think about it after last week but at least we showed promise and many times those kinds of come backs (even those unrealized) can galvanize a team. If you get young guys like we've got believing then there's no limit to what they can do. That said....that makes this game an absolute MUST WIN or things are going to get a fair bit darker for the program.

OKSt is a choke machine. I say they have the game in their hands but give it away with turnovers, bonehead plays and bad coaches haircuts. Texas in a come back they COMPLETE this time....38-34.

Not sure I would be talking about choke machine - though I truly felt bad for the kicker....

History makes a choke machine, not one play of one game. I thought I was pretty clear about that. Further, I'd say UT has a pretty stellar record of NOT choking in even the biggest situations. A few in particular come to mind....

We've only lost 2 games ... besides we weren't supposed to beat Cal ... all the odds were against us. But we came a lot closer than anyone would have predicted.

He only set a school record for combined yardage in his second start. He's very fast, I saw that firsthand in the spring game, and Cal and the rest of the country saw it last Saturday on that last TD run. He's way ahead of where Vince Young was as a redshirt freshman as a passer, too.

Yeah but two words my friend. Game tape. Football history has shown us very clearly that certain players do pretty well when they are brand new and no one has any tape on them. Then after 6 games or an off season or so the defensive coordinators around the country do their jobs and figure out the players weaknesses. A certain Robert Griffin in the NFL comes to mind. Hopefully he can rise above that but what a lot of people wondered about with him was his ceiling. With his height and passing deficiencies does he have a ceiling that's pretty close to where he is now? For example with the Vince Young comparison he really had no ceiling and that got born out over his college career. No matter what people did to try and stop him he just got better and overcame it.

Chalk it up as a process to finding our Quarterback and move on!
Aside from the 1 interception (due to a green QB & new play caller) ... and 1 missed FG (due to nerves) ... UT is off to a great start and we have a QB .. so let's rally behind the QB, team & Strong ... and move on!

This kid's got a better arm than VY.
I think he's more a student of the game than Vince was, too.
He's also got coaches that will actually work to develop him, unlike what VY had.
