So last night I transported some college kids and when we almost got to the destination I noticed that one of them had a alcohol in a soft drink bottle. What do you guys do in this type of situation. End the ride right there, stop and ask them to toss it, create a report with Uber?

I wouldn't sweat it. You would never be expected to know that the bottle had alcohol in it if you got stopped by the police.

open container = stop ride immediately and kick pax out. I would also take a picture of the open container in the car and report it to Uber. People need to learn that there is zero tolerance for open containers in Uber rides.

I had a group of people do the same sort of thing. 4 women around 26 - 28 had vodka in water bottles and were drinking out of em. They also had me stop at a liquor store while 2 of them ran in and bought 3 six packs, which they began drinking in the back.

If i kick them out I risk a 0 rating.
If i don't i risk a ticket (although in my younger days we chugged whatever it was and hid the empties in a bookbag, come back with a warrant **** am I right?)

So it's kind of like damned if you do damned if you don't, thanks to this b.s. rating system. One 0 would plummit your rating, so you risk essentially being fired for telling a passenger not to break the law (of course most laws exist to generate revenue anyway but that's a different topic).

Maybe you could even be subtle. Drive them to a police station and tell the cops. Can't give a 1 star if they're getting arrested

kick the the heck out, and move on with your life. don't be polite about it either. be as rude as possible. i guess their parents did not teach them manners, someone should...

i ussually cancel, so from then on, no strings attached, i turn to them: Getta fk out here, now!!!

believe me, from psychology point of view, they will act accordingly next time.

its like kicking the dog. once you hit, next time it will be afraid to act in certain way.
