Dear Ola

I am from a drivers collective In Melbourne and have heard about your decision to remove the ability for the driver to see the destination, We also find the fares for short trips are too low and this is unacceptable for drivers as we have to pay all the costs and do not earn enough revenue for our time and the cost of servicing these fares.

Low fares do not always attract more customers in fact they deter many customers because service is compromised as drivers do not want to drive long distances for loss making short fares.

I am organising our group to boycott your service by not logging on with OLA at this date and time (Thursday, 18th of April 2019, 3- 6pm) in Melbourne, Victoria . As this is a very busy time for travel I believe it would be wise to reply to this email as soon as possible.

Our demands are listed below

Demands:
  • Minimum $7 fare (to driver)
  • must be able to see destination before accepting ping.
We will continue our boycott action against your company at other times until these demands are met.

Regards, Llib (The Rideshare Collective)

They won't respond, but if they did, I can imagine it going something like this.

Dear Ola Driver,

Your letter had no impact what so ever and nor will the boycott for a couple of hours. You'll obviously keeping working for us, as will many others, at our current rates so why would we change?

Thanks you.
