I stood on the sidewalk
with my suitcase in tow.
Off to the airport
I had to go.

He drifted the corner
up on two wheels.
Screeched to a halt
I was getting the feels.

Without a word
I heard the trunk click.
Threw in my bag
thinking "geez what a dick".

I jumped in the back seat
of his tiny race car.
My "hey how's it going?"
did not get me far.

My senses were overwhelmed
by the smell of his weed.
Hit the interstate quick
like it was Need for Speed.

We passed other cars
as if they were still.
I texted my wife
to update my will.

Diverting my eyes
I waited for death.
we raced to departures
I took a deep breath.

Without a word
I jumped out the car.
Looked at the app
and gave him one star.

This is a true story. Every word. Ok... the 'up on two wheels" is a bit of an exaggeration but it stunk of ganja and we were doing at least 90 on the interstate. I should have taken a photo of the guy. Altho I can only imagine what bloodshot, glassiness lurked behind those sunglasses.

Ya' know, i dont smoke and drive (for rideshare) but if i did, I'd be a lot more relaxed, and way less subject to roadrage

Ganja just plain reeks, man. Every time I even pass one particular grow warehouse and dispensary here in town, I have to spray air freshener, no exaggeration. I've stopped taking dispensary pings because they stink up my car.

Agreed. It is very foul smelling. Whenever I get a pax that recently smoked out, I need to air my car out for quite some time before next ride.
