Probably not. Use an XL insteadSo as the title says - can UberX cars take a wheelchair that's folded up? I was hoping to use uber tomorrow when I'm in London but need to find out whether their UberX cars would allow a folded wheelchair (and two people) in their car. Thanks!
I know there's a category like Uber X called Uber Assist here in San Francisco. These drivers have received training (online video) on wheelchair stowage and such. Maybe London has this, too.So as the title says - can UberX cars take a wheelchair that's folded up? Its not about whether the wheelchair would fit in or not, just that a lot of drivers are complete wankers who wouldnt take it cos they wont be bothered. On XL they wont have any excuses.a prius can take a folded wheel chair and that's uberX. the other uberX vehicles are mainly octavia's insignias etc. not sure a Honda insight will take a folded wheel chair
complete wankers. u come to work so u should work. why refuse a job coz u gota get out ur car. I don't get it. silly isn't itIts not about whether the wheelchair would fit in or not, just that a lot of drivers are complete wankers who wouldnt take it cos they wont be bothered. My mate ordered an X, a Galaxy showed up. He had 3 black bags he needed to take. The prick told him to cancel the job and order an XL!complete wankers. u come to work so u should work. why refuse a job coz u gota get out ur car. I don't get it. silly isn't it
I've taken 4 passengers and 4 suitcases in a prius to Gatwick from picadilly before. That's a piss take.My mate ordered an X, a Galaxy showed up. He had 3 black bags he needed to take. The prick told him to cancel the job and order an XL!
If you believe that folded wheel chair can fit in the boot easily than there shouldnt be any problem and u dnt need to worry about it. Expect toyota prius if you request uber x .There's no Uber Assist here sadly, I did read that though forqalso (great idea, shame London haven't caught on..).
What sort of cars are the UberX's? I'm guessing they wouldn't allow for it to be folded up in the back either? (it's just a standard wheelchair so folds up easily).
Thanks for your replies.
Depends how big those 3 bags were.My mate ordered an X, a Galaxy showed up. He had 3 black bags he needed to take. The prick told him to cancel the job and order an XL!
Do you know what black bags are? Like bin liners?Depends how big those 3 bags were.
All i meant to ask is that if driver had a Galaxy doesn't mean that passenger can use that car as a 7 seater and if they want to use as a mpv they must book under uber xl and not x . If those 3 BLACK bags can fit in a saloon car than obviosly driver can't request to cancel the trip.Do you know what black bags are? Like bin liners?
Even if they were fully packed they could still fit in a Galaxy.
If they don't, report them! I would take it in my uberx. Thanks for the replies guys you've been really helpful, I'll go for the UberXL and keep everything crossed they'll allow the wheelchair in...!
Just hail a licensed London Taxi for your journey across London ,the English speaking professional driver will place your wheelchair in the back without folding it then safely take you to your destination, you and your friends can sit back and relax safe in the knowledge that the fully insured driver will use the quickest route possible. So as the title says - can UberX cars take a wheelchair that's folded up?
