How they can without getting the delivery driver. I went online at 12:05 and got a ping from MacDonald. after finishing delivery I saw the Request time was 11:45 that mean system cant find any body to deliver the request and took 20 minutes to find a driver. This clearly shows there are not too much drivers available in the area. Most of the peoples do it part time and when they will get paid with new system they will have no options other then saying good bye to Delivery. Compare the gas prize was low before the minimum wages was low delivery fare was better, now the gas price went up the minmum wages went up and the delivery fare went down. Amazing Uber

Nooooo. Data. Data they collect is worth more than the money they collect
They get all their meaningful data from UberX/Pool rides. All the data they collect from UberEats is how many BigMac's people eat..

That's also valuable too that they collect and sell to MacDonalds.
Sure I guess any data is valuable. But that isn't the reason to offer free delivery for a month, which was OP's question.

If you want to look at the bigger picture as to why Uber introduced their Eats platform, I wouldn't say it was primarily to collect data like their ridesharing platform. I think it's more of an extra source of revenue for them which already fit into their theme of cheap gig work..

Did they offer any Boost/Surge in that area? 1.2X, 1.3X or 1.4X?

The way they are discourging their drivers i think they will be out from the food business.
I don't know. They called me before the changes and asked my opinion. we had conversation on the phone for about 20 minutes. I told Jason that change is fine as long as any losses in pay are compensated with boost. That did not happened . Boost was already set for the week. I'm surprise they didn't adjusted during the week.
