Nothing gets me more upset than

Okay so one thing that really gets me upset is when the passenger chooses a route that takes so much longer than what the navigation says. What makes it worse is that their route is almost always significantly less is mileage which equates to much less pay as the pricing ratio from time to distance is so large. I drive in Los Angeles I always sit in bumber to bumper traffic for an extra 20 minutes for less pay in these instances. Does anybody else get these types of pax/rides?

Tell them there's a traffic jam on the route they want to take and that you're taking the fast route. Sometimes you just have to take charge.

The cheap a$$ will rate you lower if you don't. I Say turn about is fair play. 1 Star there a$$.
Wait, so you're complaining that you want to take the less efficient route? Your pax are too smart for your hijinks.

Considering that shortcuts add a dozen or more turns, and greater wear and tear, wouldn't it be fairer if if they took main roads and earned a fair rate for a fair service?

I want to take them the quickest way possible. They want the traffic ridden, extended time route.
Always follow pax suggestion. Explain - the highway is quicker but a few more miles, the shorter route will take longer but save you a few bucks. Which would you prefer.

Overwhelmingly, they generally want the fastest route. Have a dash cam, record every ride, and if they try to complain about inefficient route, you have the video to send back to Uber.
Screw them take the route you want to take . If a route on a highway is going to cut 1 minute off the time but add 4 miles guess what I take it, less ware on my car taking the highway . I just tell them that I'm taking the fastest way accoridng to current up to date traffic information . I'll even be honest and say the road they want me to take is full of pot holes and traffic lights and not worth it. The highway will be faster and more plesent of a ride

This happens occasionally and I tell them very politely that "Hi, I'd be happy to go the way you want, but just wanna say that the GPS usually gives the fastest route, and it may be that the route you are choosing has unforseen traffic, which is why the GPS is not selecting your route this time. I find it a good idea to go with the GPS, most of the time. Do you still want to go your chosen way ? "

That usually does it, but sometimes they insist, then you gotta do what they want, if you want a good rating.

Most pax don't say anything I just follow the GPS or the most efficient way I know (bridge construction is a huge problem in my area that Google Maps doesn't always reflect). If they want to direct I ask "are you sure, my route via xyz is faster" and most of the time they're good with that, but if they insist on sitting in bridge traffic for an hour then so be it, not worth the argument or the 1*.

A scenario I've never had is a pax insisting on an inefficient route that I know is going to land me in bridge traffic for half an hour during an incentive or surge period in which case I might just end their ride and tell them I'm not taking their route....
I always tell them if they have a quicker way let me know. I just got a feedback for bad Nävîgãtiön lol. I go where my god tell me and half the time they don't even have the correct address in there. I have to keep calling and asking where are you and it will be like 2 miles down the rode. I'm just convinced I can't make these **** happy so I will stop trying.
... a rider not respecting my time.

... a server/bartender/hairstylist not leaving a tip.

They both piss me off equally.
