I was doing a job with 4 girls with heaps of luggage and they wanted me to stop at buszone which I refused. So while I was looking for a place to stop in two minutes I get 2-3 pings for second jobs which I didnt accept. After dropping I am not getting any job for last 30 mins while in busy area and busy time.

Same thing happened other day when I cancelled the same job 2 times as pickup was in no stopping zone and pax was not out.


Obviously something is wrong. If its a uber policy they boot us out for some time shouldn't we get some sort of notice.

Is there any policy surrounding this?

Why didn't you accept the other job? More jobs = more earnings ;-)

I'd agree, just accept the next job, you will finish up in a minute or two, and then you can move onto the next job. The pax is informed that you are still on your previous job, so they know you will take a bit longer to get there.
It makes the pax think you are extra busy, and that you accepted them anyway. So they are extra happy.

but seriously Uber shouldn't count the stacked jobs, what if the first rider decided to go somewhere else? it's so common that the rider forgot stuff and had to turn around, or change of plans, or only picking up a mate and keep going or wrong address?
30 minutes for a penalty that's out of drive's control is just too harsh and unfair, especially in the busy/surge times.

I'm guessing if there is busy/surge, then uber will allocate *any* available driver... even if you were "red flagged" for ignoring trips. Also, there is an option in the app to specify that you received requests while still on a job (I seem to recall that).... maybe you should use that?

When on trip in Uber maps view, tap on the address once and it should bring you to a screen where you can change the address. Either that or tap on "Overview". I do that in heavy traffic when cars are not moving to see which way the GPS exactly wants me to go, then I switch to Google Maps to look at traffic on side streets.

Just to clarify. For example if I am dropping someone off at circular quay station, and while I'm near intercontinental hotel I get a second job. I should accept this job. Then on my app I need to change the destination from circular quay station to some other place like Gladesville and that will result in the second trip dropping off by itself. Without me having to cancel it.

In that case, don't accept the second or stacked job.

Exactly, unless you really have to call it a day, why wouldn't you accept a stacked ping? It generally means there is zero wait time between jobs, the pick up will often be within 100m of the drop off point, it's generally just a great result IMHO.... The only time I ignore the stacked job is if the pax has entered a destination but wants to go on to a second destination.

Depends. I had a stacked ping that was 7 min away. Non-surge. Still within an inner city suburb. I looked at it after dropping off previous pax, cancel. Maybe because the neighbouring suburb was flaming at 3.4x

7 min in a stacked job in the inner suburbs, I agree is to far...
Have done that in the past, just because you may be in the same suburb, like Paddington, diesnt mean that it's close..

It could also have been other nearer drivers pinging out because they were chasing the 3.4x I did let 2 more non-surges go before I got the unicorn 3.4.

So I cancelled a job after accepting it only to realize that the pickup location was like 20 kms way from me. My bad that I didn't notice the address first. I cancelled the job soon after with "Do not charge rider". I get a "feedback" on my "professionalism" to not cancel accepted rides. Oh well...

Zero chance that I'd be driving more than 5km or 5 mins for a job
