Have no idea about that. My understanding is that the Uber/Lyft are de-regulated. And this actually made me think that the Ft Worth drivers for Uber/Lyft could now start their own ridesharing service.......

As I read this article, and, a related article that I saw elsewhere on the interweb, all that any transportation company need do is pay five hundred bananas and register with the City.

This would preclude Uber and Lyft, as they are "technology companies" not "transportation companies".

If, however, those two do register with Fort Worth as "transportation companies", I do wonder if that could be used against them in legal proceedings not only in Fort Worth, but elsewhere.

This does assume that Lyft does not disappear.

DFW metro market is basically a free for all zone. Starting your own cab company is easy. There's like 50 differect ones with all different cars, like prius, sentra, Camry anything you name it can be a cab here.

The only rules to really abide by are soliciting pax at the airport terminals. i.e. don't get caught.
