Got a ping for a premium pickup this morning. I live in a sparsely populated area of the state, so it makes sense for me.
It was 11 miles and 26 min away.
I get there and he’s a no show.
I call, nothing.
I cancel and to my surprise I get paid from the moment I excepted the ping.
The full 11 miles and 26 min.
Sounds fair to me!

In other words, if base/miles/minutes plus long pickup fee add up to less than minimum fare, you still only get minimum fare.
I did an 45+ minute X ride into NYC yesterday at 2.6x surge. Took approx 10 minutes to get to pax due to the heavy rain & traffic though I was relatively close. Received a whopping $.45 cents "Long Pickup Fee" after netting approx $125.00...

The threshold for it to be a 'Long Pickup' is around 10 or 11 minutes (meaning you only start getting paid after 10-11 minutes of driving towards the pickup) which is why you got that amount. I think it's actually 11 minutes in NJ.
