I wonder if pax are starting to give up getting rides in the outer Sunset because a lot of cars get clustered downtown closer to 9am.

If you do 2 trips in 45 minutes, stay online for 15 min more to get the complete guarantee for that hour (60min ).

had the app on 7-9 AM and BARELY finished 4 rides needed for the hourly guarantee

started in the outer sunset cause that's where I live, so I just sit at home until I get a ping .. all four trips were Uber X and I didn't get my first request til like 7:40 AM

All my trips since Saturday except 1 pool was uberx and I did not get a 2nd pax in that 1 pool trip. Theory is driver saturation is causing drivers to get 2 trips per hour instead of pool. I am not complaining because I am in the same boat that I just manage to get that 2nd trip in that hour completed.

I bet pax running late has both Uber and Lyft apps open hoping to get a ride downtown if they are in the outer Sunset and all the cars are clustered downtown. Drivers would get pinged before they get to outer Sunset because of other pax running late in central neighborhoods.

One time lady gave up, called office to start without her, and I took her back home.

Can't comment about Monday or Tuesday, but all last week including Sunday half my pickups were Pool, but the pools were all 4 or 5 pickup chains. So that actual trips A to B was about 10-15% Pool and the rest UberX.

I only had two single pickup pools last week entirely in 100 rides

Both I have noticed and the riders have commented/complained that the "out of the way" distance to make pickups or extra dropoffs have been increased. This increases the time spent on any multi-pickup ride (at the lower rates) and wastes more of the riders time.

Maybe the system knows which driver to pick for pool rides because of consistency meaning who is going for that 100 or 120 all or most of the time. Laws of probability.
