They are not letting them die but they need to implement a triage and in that scenario they make an assessment on who has the best chances of surviving and who will be basically using a ton of limited supplies and even then not make it. Is hard but necessary sometimes and i can't even imagine what those making the decisions are going through.
You made it sound like if you are old they won't even give you any care and let you die. It isn't like that, inform yourself please.

When there are not enough beds you're on your own.

I’m in Manhattan now, Columbus circle, I brought my wife here for a scheduled medical examination. Guys, 45 minutes trip from Brooklyn Gravesend, a piece of cake! No traffic at all on Ocean Parkway, just a few on BQE before the tunnel. It looks like holiday. After this I’m heading to east Flatbush to bring her to work, let’s see

When they run out of beds they'll put you on the floor or on a table or they'll make makeshift tents like in the army, you are not going to die because you didn't get your own bed with private room and room service and cable TV.... are you ****ing with me? You are acting like entitled pricks.... "oh I want my own bed", "oh nurse is time for my sponge bath".... snap out of it. This is a GLOBAL emergency and yes, people are going to die but to say that those first responders are letting people die is complete nonsense..... they are just using common sense, logic and triage.... if you have person #1 18 yr old kid with all his life in front of him and up to that moment a perfect medical history and then person #2 a 65 yr old man who already lived a good life and not only is he infected but he also has other medical issues like his heart is not what it used to be or had diabetes or has been a smoker all his life, etc.... and your resources are limited.... who are you going to focus your limited supplies on? I truly hope you choose the 18 yr old kid..... BUT that doesn't mean the are going to toss the old guy out the door, the 65 yr old man will still receive care and will be assisted in the best possible way. This doctors and nurses are heroes, they put their lives in danger to help others every day without barely any sleep, you guys are portraying then as assassins and murderers.

You are reading into that the wrong way... The way it works is up to this moment patients were treated on a "first come first serve basis", they can't do that anymore. Now they have switched to a TRIAGE approach in which when somebody goes to the hospital and assessment is made on that individual and according to different factors that person will be assigned to a specific place within the hospital but that doesn't mean that automatically if you are over a certain age they will let you die.

I didn't say that they'll choose young men over elderly men. Resources are limited, no matter how many new beds you'll create it's still limited and it'll affect everyone. The army and med personnel can also get sick and that means there is a point when you'll be on your own. It all depends how widely the virus spreads. If 4 million people get sick in just only NYC do you think there would be enough care and assistance? That's why #1 priority now is to stop spreading.
