Welcome zmei: IMHO, I would forgo working in the Hartford County area (For now) since Uber reduced both passenger and driver's rates by 20%. Though New Haven may be 40 miles from Salem I would also look towards the New London area for great opportunities which abound between the colleges, navel base, and Electric Boat etc. From what I've heard recently yet have zero concrete evidence to support this but the casinos haven't been as active as we would all have liked it to be. Check out "Zello" at your App. Store. It's a two-way communications device that has increasingly become a popular instrument to speak with other Uber Drivers. Specifically, if you register, seek out "Uber CT" and apply for inclusion. Simon, another Uber Driver here in CT is administering it. You may find it beneficial. Once on, you can submit yourself to a Vulcan Mind-meld and learn a great deal from the Uber Drivers i.e., the Pros, Cons, and Gotchas that you'll want to avoid. In addition if you'd like, you can receive a boiled down P&L (Profit & Loss) estimate on your rolling costs per mile to operate your vehicle when modeling certain variables.

Again, welcome!
