So I decided to do Uber and ubereats full-time is going on about 2 months for me. So far i find their rating system is just really in need of some work. I am now at a 4.5 rating . After doing a run in Cleveland . Im really debating on getting a car cam. I had reports to uber that my car smells and I need to show processionalism. My car is clean. I do uber eats so i do get food smells in my car. I pick up a lot of stinky people that smells . it lingers in the car .I even had a customer claim they didnt get the food they ordered and was able to prove that they did get it. But uber had charged my account for the delivery without notifying me first. I did end up getting reinbursed. I do a lot of late night driving with the party people and my ratings go down because i get a lot of drunk and high people. Evrn had one say..oh well you dont have a one star rating yet so let me give you one..just to be disrespectful. This rating system is just ridiculous. For the most part people are ok. But uber riders really need to respect drivers and respect that they are riding in someone personal vehicle. So close to just recording everything. People will make stuff up about me just because.

Have you ever taken an uber or Lyft personally? Check out your competition and take 10 short trips around town.

When you order look for drivers with at least 1000 rides with ratings between 4.9 -4.99. Look at their profile and how long they been driving and observe quietly or get feedback or advice. Anything under 4.9 or maybe a 18 months or under 1000 rides, cancel and order again.

You know the streets, speed limits in your area. Also you should know what kind of questions you get asked all the time ask the driver the same see what they say.

Pretend to be a tourist or not play around

After that many rides you have a consistent problem you are not aware of. It's tough to look at yourself objectively many times.

You should get a dashcam anyway but this is not going to help your problem me thinks

Yes im familiar with uber. I have rode in an uber plenty of times. I air it out I use stuff to get odors out. And no i pick up a lot of people who smells like weed. Like strongly. I contacted uber and i asked how can i deny a rider for smelling badly and not get accused of discrimination. People will accuse someone just to discriminate. I think it is certain riders. Like the ones who gets rude and loud at the driver when i tell them i wont join them for drinks in their hotel room or i dont smoke so they cant smoke in the car. Then i had an issue about the acceptance rates and cancellation. I go to hit no thanks on a ride that pings me . Because im about to log off . it accepts it instead then im forced to cancel it. The app needs some work im glad they allow feed back and are trying to improve some kinks. But now i will report stinky people.

When I first started 2 years ago, I had rude pool scum pax, entitled ones and everything. I did everything right and my rating was nearing below 4.70. I put one of those please rate 5 star signs we lose our ability to drive if we fall below such and such.

My pax ever since then are usually like "really? I never knew that, I usually rate drivers less, but didn't know they could get kicked off."

Ever since then my rating had slowly went up and stayed well above 4.90, but none of that matters much longer because uber is on borrowed time with their scams.

Lol you probably been dealing with it a lot longer. Im a single mom. The option to log on and off and be own boss with my schedule is really needed at the time for my kid

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I just think this rating system is just ridiculous. Having to inform people to do the right thing and rate professionally just to be able to keep providing a cheaper alternative ride services for them. I rode uber plenty of times always gave 5 stars. I always kept an open mind that this person is a human being and we all have our days and moments.

drop the stinky people off at the car wash and start putting the eats deliveries in your trunk.

If passengers are saying that your car stinks it may just stink. Get some Ozium for real nasty smells or good smells that are just a little too problematic like weed/tobacco. Start screening your passengers according to their rating. Don't pick up low-rated passengers. I won't pick up anybody under 4.7 or so. You have to decide your own cut-off point. I'm sure it will be different for every driver. I've maintained a good rating while driving almost exclusively at night. It ain't easy and I do take a rating hit from time to time. If you can avoid bar closing then do so until your rating improves a bit.

It was two riders and yes I figured someone would be ignorant in responses. But hey this is the internet and people will say whatever lol good for you.. You know to shower.. Who would of thought to take a shower

I had two riders complain of smell after i dropped off riders who smelled so bad of weed . i try not to discriminate with party people. I dont smoke do drugs and drink heavily but i think at least they arent driving drunk or high. I try to give rides to everyone not to discriminate but i do now will report any issues with a rider with uber. I got a lot of compliments from riders and I over all enjoy most of the people i do pick up . But just like your responses on here there are always the ignorant people who will just be disrespectful and discriminate for no reasons. I use uber as a taxi as well and im always respectful and consiserate I keep an open mind that the uber rating system is just crock and i dont judge a rider or a driver on their ratings. I got 2 one star rating one 2 star and one 3 star rating out of 500 rides. I got the two from a guy who got pissed because i wouldnt log off and go with him to get drinks.. He was like...oh you get two stars for being unprofessional. That rating system has a lot of flaws.

You need to discriminate against low rated pax. My suggestion is to not take anyone below 4.9 or 5.0(new account same shit passengers as sub 4.9).

Also give up eats. Eff that bs.

Im doing that now somewhat I did notice that when i don't accept a rider uber resend the request to me back to back. After not accepting the third time they log me offline automatically and ask if i want to stay online i need accept requests. I started documenting any issues I have . uber says you can not accept request but i find i get less ride requests in general when i do not accept all requests.

Yes you absolutely need a dashcam - from the sound of it you should have gotten one 2 months ago. Why would you let your rating get to 4.5 without some protection?

Proceed to Best Buy or Walmart or wherever they sell dashcams and purchase one TODAY. You're going to be deactivated soon if you don't protect yourself.

I talked to uber about it and yes i got close to 500 rides in but only 150 of those rides rated me. I talked with uber and keep them up to date on errors and riders. I dropped a 4.9 to 4.5 in one night. From refusing to accept certain riders and from the type of customers i mentioned on here. Thats why i said they need a better rating system. Im documenting everything. Too many shady people out there. I had a 4.9 before i decided to do trip reauests on my way home from a long trip i decided to do. Those people most not all i did pick up some pretty cool people but most were some reallt shady people. Im documenting everything.

OP maybe you should plan your shifts in a way where you drive pax for the first 4-5 hours then switch to only Eats.

I'd hate to be a pax trapped in a car that just delivered 6 extra garlic, extra onion pizzas and 4 orders of Indian food. And definitely spray SOMETHING and roll down windows to air out the car as you drive before picking pax up if you've been doing Eats first.

Not sure if you smoke cigarettes, but that's a no-no in your car also.

You guys on here are just silly people. I said i dont smoke. I said i use car spray to spray mt car i use air fresh . And yes I know how to keep a car smelling good. I had a complaint that i vent about on here i do expect some crazy responses on here. Yes people have target me for false reports since driving for uber and ubet eats . I call in with uber and I resolved the issues and I keep track on everything.

Uber eats and uber will shun you for not staying online and doing both. If you dont accept all requests they will warn you about the acceptance rate which does over all affect your rating with uber.

I got 150 lifetime rated trips . 138 are 5 star ratings 2 are one stars one is 2 star and one is 3 stars the rest are 4 stars. I dont need to do anything differently but document my trips better which i started. So I called uber and talked with them about the rating i have now and they told me im not in the negative with them. That is why i dont look at the rating system too much too many flaws with it. I appreciate any input though and wish you a lovely weekend
