Where do you guys go to find out this information? Is there a site I can constantly check. I know we're not allowed at Newark Penn but I was just checking to see if anything has changed. Is it still legal for us to do pick ups and drop offs from the airport in Newark? Also, do you know if we are allowed to drop off at places like LaGuardia and JFK in NY?

I was also curious about Uber cancellations. I've been doing Lyft since July and I noticed is a lot of people request to go to Newark Penn station. What are usually do is cancel the ride or ask them to cancel. If I make any cancellations I email Lyft and then they remove it from my cancellation rating.

Does Uber do the same thing? If not, how do you guys keep your ratings up? It's so unpredictable to know where people are going.

Haaa? Where dis you hear Newark Penn is not allowed? Or airports? I dropoff/pickup at Newark Penn and Airport all the time no issues. As long as you don't park at taxi/cop stands, don't block traffic and obey traffic laws you should be ok. If you dropping middle of the street then it's a different thing, the cops will ticket you and probably include ilegal taxi tickets but that's about to change in May when the latest law goes into effect.

Newark Penn you have to pick up and/or drop off at the island sidewalk. Curbside is for taxis only.
You asked about a site to check to know these things. Go to the top thread here "Advise For New Drivers" Most anything you'd want to know is there.
If there's something not there, just ask here.
It's not even only for taxi drivers, it's only for specific taxi companies. When I dispatch for a cab stand in a different town in the area, we had to tell our newer drivers about that as well. They were not allowed in that little taxi road adjacent to the building. We also told them to pick up on Raymond Plaza West, not East. I still follow the same rule for myself, driving Uber.

Thanks guys! A friend of mind that drives for Lyft got a ticket and a tow in October 2016 for picking up at Raymond Plaza West. They kicked the passenger out of the car. $2500 and paying for getting your car back from the tow place wasn't great. I was confused about this, because I don't know when the rules changed to it back to being okay to pick up from there.

If I had a medallion for each time a cabbie came on here... I'm not saying you are one, but that story raises a few flags.

? No I'm not a cabbie. I work for Lyft and Uber. A friend of mine who works for Lyft told me he had that issue last October. I have been avoiding doing drop off's and pick ups at that location for the longest until I went two weeks ago to Penn station and ask them directly (the police that work there) if I could pick up and they told me to pick up at Raymond Plaza West or the Hilton. They said it was OK. And I was really confused so I checked back with my friend and he said that he did pick up from there in October and that's when he got to ticket and tow. I've done pick ups over the past couple of weeks and I've had no issues but I was really confused with the story because it doesn't make sense. And obviously my friend isn't lying to me.

I did a drop off this week at Penn Station AND pick-up. No problem.

BUT drop off and pick up at the left side on Raymond Plaza West. The right side is FOR TAXI ONLY. As mentioned.

I bet your friend did the drop off on the taxi lane.

I always mention this to the pax why I cannot give them curbside drop off.
