I'm parked, curbside, waiting for a ride request, along comes a vehicle and pulls up, directly in front of my vehicle. The driver remains in his vehicle, so I take a look at the passenger app. and sure enough, it's another Uber driver with no trade dress in the window. I got out and went over to his car and asked him if he is a Uber driver, I had to ask, three times before he acknowledged he was. I explained the importance of checking the pax app., in order to find out where the other drivers are, than he could position himself in a place, away from me and increase his chances of picking up a ride request. This, poor sole, "fool", had no clue. I have noticed a lot of new Uber drivers on the road and many of them are blocking lanes, to pick up / drop off the pax and making U turns or attempting to, in the middle of the road. Another words. "some of you, can't drive for shit." I have noticed this over the past 6 to 8 weeks, it's just gotten worse recently. Many of the new drivers, drive well and don't standout, only the bad ones stand out, like a sore thumb.

Has anyone else experienced this situation, "BS" ?

Try sitting at home and being boxed in. I've had to leave a couple of times. Cause they drop off and not leave. Its more frustrating when the ping goes to them.

I make U turns. The thing about driving the graveyard shift is that there aren't many other cars. I've been driving for almost 10yrs and haven't gotten a single ticket or accident. I'm careful and only do then when there isn't another car in sight. As far as dropping/pickup I always pull up infront on an open space. On Sunset Blvd, everyone always pulls up on the right lane to pick up their pax, which is always a pain when trying to get out.

I don't use the rider app in any form as a spy device or as it was intended to be used to get a ride.

I've never had that problem the other drivers that I'm next to just seem to ignore me they don't get out or approach me and try to educate teach, esplain.

I never make a U-Turn.
I have, however, been known to make two left tuns
in quick succsession.

Besides, the large car I'm driving now has such a lousy turning radius that it can't get out of it's own way...
which means most U-Turns are a three point turn anyway.

Yes, and the cops in San Diego use them as revenue enhancement.

What are you talking about, "spy Device" ? It's a tool that can benefit you, if you know how to use it. Give yourself some elbow room, that way you can get a ride request. Sitting on my ass, greatly decreases my chances.
Some drivers do better than others.
If they haven't figured out how to use the pax app to spread out, they will earn less.
Oh well.
