If they introduce this to New Jersey, you better believe I'm out. That's how I make a killing on Saturdays. No surge, no drive.
Agreed, but rideshare has a huge turnover, those of us that give Uber the finger and move on will just be replaced by new ants. There are some that think it wont come to the Boston market, but I think it will eventually. Over the next X amount of years Uber will introduce flat surge to other markets. The biggest ones may be last but I believe it will be the new normal for rideshare.

There is my amateur prediction for what it's worth, I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong, only time will tell.

Uber doesn’t need more cash and if they did they could raise it in a heartbeat. Uber’s goal right now is rider growth. Making a profit is secondary.
I’ve read the Charlotte forum and it’s a lot of complaining with a few posters showing it’s the same or better. People like to complain on these forums so you have to take everything with a grain of salt. Imma driver is pretty realistic so I’ll be interested to hear their feedback.

Sorry, but I think this is a very wrong take. This is not 2014 anymore with venture capitalists just throwing money into a black hole. One of Softbanks conditions for buying the largest stake in Uber earlier this year, at a discount no less ($48M paid vs $68M valuation), is that Uber has to turn a profit.
