As many of you already know, in order to ensure the safety of the Lyft Community, (which is always the number one priority of Lyft Corporation Central Control) effective next week all active Lyft drivers will be required to undergo daily testing for the Covid-19 death virus in order to continue using the Lyft platform.

Needless to say, many of us are enduring a financial loss due to the temporary suspension of Lyft Shared and the resultant decrease in tip revenue this has led to. Oh, how how miss those DTLA 3 pax shared rides between 5:30 and 7pm.

So my question to the fine members of this forum is where can low cost testing be found? So far, I found a test center in Beverly Hills that charges only $250, but considering my weekly earnings driving only 60 hours (I'm an old man, I can't do the 84 hours/week that most Lyft driver/ants are expected to do), this will be a significant financial burden on me.

I did find a possible low cost alternative testing clinic at the corner of San Pedro and 5th streets in Los Angeles, as a bonus, they also test for AIDS, syphilis, herpes, gonorrhea and genital warts, something we as Lyft drivers, can always use. They also provide a free bowl of tasty Raman noodles for those of you who did not stock up on food before this crisis.

Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance.

who told you this? And if this is a requirement, it's a requirement by lyft. So either they will supply tests for all the driver daily (muhahahahaha) or they will force you into unemployment. Then they will use AB5 as a president to try and receive a bailout as a final cash grab opportunity.

Grab a pen and paper and put it in your pocket. Go find a very tall building and climb to the roof. Now write" Scared. I might have something nasty inside of me." on the paper and put it in your pocket and jump. Make sure you jump heads first. Once they find you, they will test you for free

good idea.....does it have to be a "very tall building"........with the travel restrictions in place it would be hard to go to the United Arab Emirates (Burj Khalifa 2717ft) or China (Shanghai Tower 2073ft).........also this might only be a one time free test.....we need to be tested daily to ensure the continued safety of The Lyft Community

Actually, daily testing is impossible now but would be a great tool for local, state, and federal governments.

For immediate Public Safety, the Covid-19 positive/negative Test would be the most important.

For Research going forward, the Covid-19 Antibodies Test would be the most important test.

But on a daily basis, neither is currently even possible.

If either test was possible to be administered even on a weekly basis, it would start with our Healthcare workers first. If not possible for them.... Ahhh, probably not possible for Lyft Drivers.

But actually as a control group, TNC Drivers would be a great group to study. The potential to have the CDC work with Uber/Lyft to track Driver/Rider contacts and movement data exists.

But I could be wrong. Maybe Lyft has some secret sauce we're not aware of?

As a Public Service, this has been a hopefully thoughtful response. . But hey, that's just me. :)

Covid19 Anribody Test

The most common test for coronavirus infections checks for the virus' genetic material (positive/negative).

A blood test that, instead, measures antibodies against the virus could give doctors and researchers more information.
