The only area I was concerned with was the x![]()
I haven't gotten this update yet. Will it only accept a ping if you touch the purple area? Or will it register if you touch it anywhere in the ping box.
Currently, the ping area takes up about 80% of my screen and registers a touch if a butterfly farts within 2 miles of my phone. I'd appreciate fewer inadvertent acceptances, but that's not in Lyft's best interests, so I doubt that'll happen.
Funny, I can't remember the last time I inadvertently accepted an Uber ping, but I have to handle my phone like an armed bomb to avoid accepting unwanted Lyft pings.

Yes, I routinely accidentally accept Lyft pings. I've NEVER accidentally accepted an Uber ping. I really hope this button fixes that problem, though I haven't gotten the update yet. Accepting a ride on accident because I'm typing a text message when a ping comes through has gotten tiresome. This is intentional on Lyft's part, another passive aggressive tactic of theirs.![]()

This is exactly right. Operations, or at the very least the developers, have a millisecond setting after presentation of the button, they can set tight, to trick drivers into accidental accepts, or loose, to reduce them. Anything accepted instantly is almost certainly accidental, so they know exactly how many accidentally accepts they are getting. This is a metric that is reported and managed to the benefit of Lyft, not the driver's.Yes, I routinely accidentally accept Lyft pings. I've NEVER accidentally accepted an Uber ping. LOL I know exactly what you mean. I have the phone in my pocket sometimes while I'm at home or moving around or whatever and when a request comes through I have to be extremely careful about taking it out of the pocket.Funny, I can't remember the last time I inadvertently accepted an Uber ping, but I have to handle my phone like an armed bomb to avoid accepting unwanted Lyft pings.
They can also see just how damn fast I cancel all the BS pings that are accepted in that manipulated fashion. All it does in my perspective is piss me off and make me turn their app off.. I used to only drive for Lyft, but this is the exact reason why 90% of my driving now is for UggherThis is exactly right. Lyft lures people in with supposed friendliness and then attempts to gaslight drivers into sticking around. Had a Lyft employee in my car last week tell me they don't have enough drivers in the bay area and I flat out told her it's because Uber treats us better and doesn't threaten us repeatedly every day for no reason. She seemed "shocked", which is the problem right there. It was like informing a family member that criticizing you all the time doesn't feel good and having them respond with a "omg I had no idea" before blathering on about "but we gotta keep the family together for the sake of the kids" bullshit. They can also see just how damn fast I cancel all the BS pings that are accepted in that manipulated fashion. I don't hope, I pray that they both destroy each other, that their ceo and executive board members all end up in jail.Lyft lures people in with supposed friendliness and then attempts to gaslight drivers into sticking around. I hate them, can you tell? lol. I hope Uber crushes them into bankruptcy.
Ah, I wondered about that. I noticed I couldn't see the destination but thought it might be because I'm still kind of a Lyft noob and not as familiar with the app as I am with Uber. Also as an added bonus here they took away the functionality where you could tap on the button and see the destination when you arrived at the location but before you started the ride. Now you don't get to see it until you start the ride just like uber.
