I have been doing uber for about 7 months and decided to add lyft; just did my first couple rides today. I hope to gain some insight on a couple the differences i noticed right off the bat.

The earnings tab is a little confusing; there seem to be 3 different totals. In the earnings tab, the top number is one amount (the least); the amount available for "instapay" is different (slightly more) then I looked on my home computer and that is different (slightly even more then the other 2)?

I learned quickly that the map that shows the pax location is abysmal. What is the deal with this? Being that there is no native gps to get you from point a to b. Does the app employ any type of gps to get to the pin; or is it basically my phone to the pax phone; I just have to eye ball it. I use waze for navigation, when switching back to the the uber app the native Gps continues if I'm w minuet or two away. Will lyft do that? Ot Is it safe to say do not to count on the lyft app for any type of navigation?

When I get to the pax. I have 2 swipes to start? One swipe to Conferm arrival and then swipe again to start the trip?

Thanks

It is Arrival, Confirm Arrival, and then START TRIP. DON'T HIT THAT BUTTON UNTIL CUSTOMER IS IN CAR. Sometimes customers hit that start trip from their end thinking it stops the 5 minute no-show counter so keep a mental note of how long you have been there. YOU MUST CALL CUSTOMER OR YOU WON'T GET PAID NO-SHOW MONEY. GPS will auto-start but sometimes shuts down twenty or thirty yards before you are at address.
Thanks for this.

I always use Google maps and it runs till I get to the pax location, then it tells me that I've arrived. I've never used Waze so can't comment on it's effectiveness. It's possible that your cell signal is weak in some locations in which case your gps might freeze or slow up.
I guess what im asking is, if I didn't hit the navigate button would the lyft app get me to were i need to go? Or is it just showing me were i am and where the pax is on a map of the area. Waze gets me to the destination just fine. Its when I switch back from Waze To Lyft I don't seem to be where the pin is. If i have to take a couple of more turns; will the lyft app direct me? I'm not completely dependent on GPS but if I'm not familiar with the area its nice hear that the street is coming up.
