Hi guys, hope you are all well!
Im a brand new Uber driver, seeking advices from the experienced drivers on the job.
I have done the work for four weeks, only do day time as need to look after kids.
I found that it’s hard to meet the expectations as only made around 15 pounds per hour with cost. With current traffic conditions and c charge, not worth to go to central London. But very quiet after 10am, like yesterday, only four 5 pounds jobs between 1030 and 1300. Is January always like this?
I have account with Uber, occasionally use Freenow. Heard loads of stories about Bolt, so don’t want to touch it.
much appreciated

I have took the month of January (easter as well) off as it’s mostly pants. Unfortunately £15-20phr is your basline, 6-10am is surge time so having bolt is handy as they tend(used to) throw up tasty jobs on surge. Keep at it you will find your niche as this job is not one size fits all. As you must of realised by now its a struggle working part-time and having a wage, its a common myth ppl regurgitate for some reason.

Wang, did you do any research in income before you started? What were your expectations?

10am to 3pm is probably the quietest time of the day so better to start early or work late as the hours in the middle are dead somedays u might get lucky get a good run during those hours but generally not much happening that time.
Tried to work from 3pm today! The traffic was really bad! Took nearly 105 minutes from Victoria to T5, 29 pounds! The road works/lane closures are just killing everyone! Respect for the drivers who can deal with all the unnecessary delays!

January has been the worst month ever for me,just terrible!...but things are looking up!..even uber have started the bonuses again for this weekend!
One thing bothers me is that on Uber app showing ‘you are in a busy area, expect trips soon’. More than half an hour, nothing!
