Yep I got the same while I was on Uber X though both the options X and XL was active.

Basically back to old X rates, or a pay cut for XL drivers. I had a lot of XL riders that were just 2 - 4 PAXs that wanted ride in a nicer, bigger, newer car/truck

This could go either way for me: Earnings-Wise.. So I'll know more once I've had more time with it. I MAY Get Less XL because of it but Comfort ride rate is higher than X.. so it may all even out.. time will tell. With the hours I drive many of my XL rides are short trips (which is actually what I want if it's surging pretty consistently anyway). Hopefully more of the 3-4 pax groups will pay a few more bucks for Comfort ride and I will have slightly less competitors (only some X cars qualify). I'm thinking of the mean summertime when DC is Ant-City.
It does Annoy me when X groups with 4 pax hop in.. they really should pay XL rate at that point, so maybe Comfort rides will be the in-between X and XL.

How do you know they will pay more?
Where are the comfort rates?
Seems to me it is just another gimmick to squeeze money from pax and continue to pay drivers same low rates.
