So the new 2 minute test isn't about canceling at two minutes it's simply charging the rider the per minute. I wonder if you get the per minute coin when you cancel at 5 or if Uber is going to pocket that money.

From what I understand it to be the rider will be charged for cancelling an X $2 if outside of 2 minutes. The rider no show is still $6 after 5 minutes.

I see no difference on my app. I like the idea of turning off requests while on a trip. So many times I've needed a bathroom break or to get fuel and then a stacked ping(s) will start blowing up my phone before I've even finished the current trip.

Version 3.106.1 confirmed and working
I give up on trying to figure out how and when Uber pushes updates. on iOs I have 1.304.1 and just tried everything I can think of to get it to update and it won't. I did notice that my rider App was waiting to update with the 2 minute change so that it will start charging me if I am not in the car in 2 minutes after it arrives.

Never mind. I tried doing an X ride this morning. Got to address started stop watch, waited 2 min then hit rider no show. Didn't get my no show fee, sent email to uber they responded back saying the 2 min only applies to the uberpool and that I didn't wait my full 5 before hitting no show.

Get you crap together uber

From the notes on the update in the Apple Store on the rider app I think the charge for the rider after two minutes starts automatically. You don't have to do anything.

I dunno? I waited 3 min and then did rider no show on the app, just to test it out. Checked rider no show and drove off. Checked the app a few min later and was a $0.00 charge showing cancelled. Emailed support and got the canned response saying I left before 5 min had been reached.

The rider has 2 minutes to cancel but we still have to wait 5 minutes for X to RNS.

This makes no sense. A rider now has 2 min to cancel the ride, but I guess as a driver we have to wait the additional 3 min to get the RNS payout. So does this mean the clock starts at 2 min? Just hurry up and push the full update out uber already, Atlanta is only a city of 6 million why are we not one of the first test markets?

Does anyone know if the Destination feature is part of this update? The Verge article says that Uber is "expanding" this feature, but I'm not seeing any way to use it. This is an ideal feature for folks like me who prefer to drive as a part of their commute (aka "rideshare" LOL).

That is all fine and good but the partner app doesn't start the count until you swipe to start the trip as far as I can tell. There is no way to tell the app you have arrived, I guess it uses GPS which is BS because most of the time pax are a distance from where the app says they are. We need a button on the app to say we are there which in turn sends the pax a text with the arrival time and a warning that they will be charged if not in the car in two minutes. Sounds like an easy way to tip yourself, if the pax shows up in like 1:30 just take your time, chat with them, get out and open the door for them. Once you pass 2 minutes start the ride.

The app already sort of does that. When you drive to the pin, the app states that it has sent a message alerting the passenger that you have arrived, that must be how the 2:00 clock is now starting. I will continue to use my apple watch to start my 5:00 min timer until uber pushes out the full app update to the Atlanta area.
