Hey guys, need some advice...
Picked up a pax, lady calls me in advance to tell me her son is at shoprite getting off and he needs a ride. I said ok and proceeded to pick him up. He seemed fairly young, in his teens so I didn't think anything of it. Dropped him off and went home. It was my last trip since the drop off was close to my house and i drove 4 hours already. Low and behold a couple days later my account was waitlisted due to the teens mom filing a complaint saying my car smelled like weed and i might be driving impaired based off the smell. Couldn't believe the accusation until I realized most likely it was the previous passenger who came in my car smelling like he left a snoop dogg concert. I rolled down the windows and drove for a couple minutes before picking the teen up, but the smell must have not been gone and he immediately assumed I was high and driving. I'm drug free, but was upset I was possibly facing permanent deactivation for the false accusation. The language in the email stated any future feedback can result in permanent deactivation. Anyways I wrote back to uber explaining my side of the story and they re-activated me a couple hours later. I have a 4.93 rating with an 88% acceptance rate and 2% cancel rate. It was my fault for not having a spray that could have eliminated the smell.
I gave the mom a 5 star. Should I go back and rate her 1 star or should I leave her with a 5? I was kind of pissed she filed a complaint, but I could understand why. I just don't want to pick that teen up again. What should I do?
