Doing the AM shift out in here in West Chester and the surgers are baffling. It's jumping between 1.5 and 1.9 all morning because apparently there is such a high demand, but only myself and one other car are servicing Chester Co right now and aren't getting a single ping. If there's enough demand for a surge how is it the only two drivers online aren't getting a single fare?

Yeah, I saw that. I started to head out that way but after I got gas, it left. Then I headed to cc, mainline area. Paid off pretty God so I'm happy. Next week, maybe I'll head over that way again and wait for it..

I sure would like to know the answer too b/c this has happened to me several times while in a respective surge zone with not many drivers, so if anyone can shed some light on this thread please do!
Those surges are a mess. I was in University City and I was dead center in the surge area. Nothing happened, no pings at all.
This is so true in the lehigh valley too. The surge rating keep on going up but no pings. Been to other areas like the lvia with "surge" 3-4 driver there no pings.
Surge rates are also, according to some info Uber has released, also based on historical data and how many people have the app open. Since there are few cars and little demand usually in that area, I think historical data has a larger than normal effect on the algorithm.

In any case, it's getting impossible to catch surges on either Lyft or Uber, since most pax now have both apps, and instead of waiting them out, switch apps.

I only caught one lyft surge rate today despite Sundays usually being good. Haven't caught an Uber surge in a month...

Try figuring out Lyft surges where a couple of blocks light up and it says 25%-75%. Makes no sense.

I do know as soon as I drive into one, it disappears in a minute or two.

pax is alerted they have to pay more. so they sit it out. once surge is gone, you will get 20 people pining you....
